Breast Support - not just bras!

Yes friends, it's that time of the year again: October, which means it's Breast Cancer Awareness month. Remember, dropping a few coins in the collection tin and wearing a pink ribbon is just the start! Ladies, self examine regularly! Blokes - men can get breast cancer too! And while you're feeling your chest, lads, give the balls a bit of a grope too - testicular cancer is most common in men between 15 and 45, and if caught early before it metastasizes has one of the highest rates of cancer survival.

So what are the MR peeps going to do this month?

I'll do my best to feel as many breasts as possible and get my nadgers groped. Together we can crack it.

Wonderful topic, Ari. We all need to participate and also wear the pink ribbon, if not throughout the entire year then at least in October. It's the Pink Month in Romania too and this morning I was at a press conference on this very subject. Avon is financing an awareness rock concert on Oct. 13, but although I won't be here for the event, I'll be wearing a lot of pink all through October. Done my part today and bought cosmetics for the donation campaign. Checked myself a couple of months back, too. My girls are healthy and happy.lol

Would be great if all the women on MR would have something pink in their avatar this month. Except for Stevew. He already does. LOL

i've been wearing lotsa pink in nyc & dc the last few days, helping melissa etheridge & hard rock cafe launch their pinktober campaign. i had the honor of flying on delta's pink plane from nyc to dc with 60 delta employees who are breast cancer survivors. every single passenger & employee was so damned happy to be there! such an inspiring experience.

Hi everyone. I'm just checking in to change my avatar to something pink in support of breast cancer research. :D

Back to bed now. Been sick all week. Damn ear infection's back. I see that some of you have missed me & that makes me cheer up a little. Thanks to those who've been concerned. Ken, no APB needed. I'm fine. Take care all. Bye.

In honor of Breast Cancer awareness month, I thought it appropriate to listen to Melissa Etheridge's survivor song, "I Run For Life"

None taken honey - now make sure you really get to know what your balls feel like in those hands, so when you do it again next month, you'll be able to tell if something's changed.

Seriously - most people spot cancer not because they find a lump in their breast/balls, but because they feel something different.

Cool that so many of you are putting up the Pinctober decorations! Now what else are you going to do?

Me, I'm organising a fundraiser at University; currently drumming up folks to help run a full-on afternoon tea party with attached cake stall. Trying to persuade my choir to do a free concert in the Royal Adelaide Hospital's cancer ward too.

Planned on changing my av anyway for the Flames season opener tonight, so may as well make it pink! (Hopefully they won't play like girls tonight  ).

My best friend is a 7-year survivor. For the first few years after she was diagnosed, I ran (well, mostly walked - bad knees) in the annual Run for the Cure. We don't have a local run where I live now, but I still donate in her honor and I'm there in spirit. Love ya' L!

Jason sorry to hear you're sick again. Time to see a specialist? I am glad to know that Stevie doesn't have you locked in a closet, or hidden in a backyard compound, etc. Take care hon. Get well soon.
