J...usually I'm a huge fan of your Journey work, but vocally these are the least impressive videos I've seen from you. Your voice really sounds strained, over used, etc. I would not use these to promote your tribute band, you can do sooooo much better as other videos have documented.

Wow....That's not how I would describe it, as I wasn't tired or straining, but I appreciate your opinion!
Thanks,

I disagree on some points. The overall performance, I think is spectacular. J obviously sings with a lot of emotion and the way he adds his own spins to the songs gives a breath of fresh air to any take, no matter how you spin it. I will pay my hard earned money one day to see Frontiers, and this makes it want to come sooner rather than later. There does seem to be minor straining, but that could be the result of J trying to channel "Perryism's" into his own preferable style., if anything. There are a few parts that aren't great, but overall, a Grade A performance by Jeremey.

Don't temp me fucker

I DO have a Santonio jersey, but it's a signed autographed Super Bowl 43 one all glass framed up, so I'll have to settle for my Elway jersey (Kidding.

) Seriously, I'll be all over it, as the time goes by I'll be letting you know as the time nears, but as of now time's are tight around here. I'll have to make things work and I'll try my damnedest!

Thanks you guys! RE my voice, I've done a lot of singing over the past year. Right now we are doing 3, sometimes 4 shows in a row every week, and I feel better vocally than I ever have. I guess the argument could be made that our schedule is just as, if not more, rigorous than Journey's...I've adjusted a bit of my style and tone in order to survive that sort of schedule and for this catalog. That may be some of the differences some may be hearing. However, singing for me right now at this stage is about as easy as speaking for me. All these DVDs and hi-def Oprah coverage may just have some spoiled as to what good old fashioned cam corder audio sound like! (that's a joke)...
Anyway, I promise you on my blood that no one is going to leave a Frontiers show disappointed either with me or with the band. Or I will personally refund your money.
Thanks again for checking them out!

Those were great J. I think that it's great that you go above and beyond with some of the notes in order to make it part of yourself. You have a wonderful voice.

J, there’s no denying you’re developing a little ROR-rasp in your voice.
But hey, as long as you don’t metamorphosis into Michael McDonald, who says it’s necessarily a bad thing?
Band sounds tight, and you’ve clearly got a hammerlock on this challenging catalogue.
Sounds good to me.

Thanks for posting. But I'm a Faithfully junkie and, truthfully, I don't like the changes you made on it so much. It took away some of the emotion for me. I didn't get caught up in the song like I usually do. I like the way you did it this way more. I felt the emotion of the song much more. Of course, that may just be me. But the others are really nice.

Hey, I said I liked the other songs.

And, actually, I like this version of Faithfully even better from 2006. Now, this rendition by Jeremey is so emotional, slower than the new one, like his tone.

Everything sounds really good to me except for the guitarist's vibrato.... it's very fluttery and not nearly as smooth as Neal's. Other than that sounds great!

Jeremey,
You mentioned adding “One More Time” to the set.
Any chance you might actually work it into a Journey song, a nice vocal tip of the hat to Perry and his use of “Cupid” with IBAWY?
Might make a killer intro to one of the slower ballads.
Just a thought.

Great idea! (On a side note, I've always wished the above show would have been professionally filmed.)

I really do appreciate the comments but I'm just not hearing the struggle and loss of power some of you guys are hearing. Maybe it's this recording. Not sure. I have not smoked for 2 years however, and I'm also hitting a lot more high notes in these versions than I normally do. Maybe that's it?
Oh well - LOL, as I said, I guess you'll have to come out to a show and judge for yourselves!
EDIT,
Up til now I've just really listened to the original audio wav files and not given the YT clips a thorough listen. I agree there does seem to be some difference in sound and tone in those clips, and I'll go back and compare that with the original files. It almost sounds a little slowed down or something. Anyway, thanks for checking them out!

Ha! First off thanks, Glad you think it sounds okay! Its still a work in progress, only 2 months into my stint with the band
Funny thing is about you mentioning Ace and Michael Schenker is i never really watched either guy lol. If you see me on a bigger stage I move a lot more than Ace, not too sure about Schenker. I grew up obsessed with Slash and Eddie but i'm 6'3'' - Eddies jumping off stuff kicking out doing splits with legs as long as mine result in singers with accidental broken eye sockets lol
