She definitely sounds really good... supposedly she's 56 according to Wikipedia, sounds about right. She's in good shape. That's the difference maker I think for a lot of vocalists who can still do it...

I saw her in 97(?) open for Styx. She was great!

All Fired Up is my all time favorite song from her.

Sorry Deb, I usually agree with you when it comes to music, but that is NOT "sounding great & kicking ass", unless kicking ass means " soundling like you just smoked 3 packs of Marlboro Reds within 2 hours and tried really hard to sing a song".....  That really sucked and I want a full fucking refund !

Agreed but she can still sing......my point I guess is that she still puts on a good show even though he higher range is not there.....it's about the way she can still rock!

No doubt, meant no dis-respect to Pat, she is AWESOME! But she does put some strain on those chords with that harsh edge she likes to put on her voice sometimes.

Bah, she doesn't sound at all different vocally than she did almost 20 years ago. Same song..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmnbXj6E430 (Some pretty interesting comments under it, VH???)

Love her voice, and yes she does kick ass. You know me, my favorite vocals (male or female) have to have a little grit to them. Yep MG, Sass!

I got a copy of the Crossroads show she did a couple of years back, can't remember the country singer she was teamed with, but it is a great listen.

Giraldo is a GD flat-out stone cold stud on the guitar.
Criminally underrated. In The Heat Of The Night is one of the greatest guitar songs ever and my favorite slide guitar solo of all time.

He played lead guitar on the Loggins/Kinnison duet Don't Fight It too.

Pat Benatar is the model for what a great female rock/pop artist should be! Amazing vocals, classy performance, and still bringing it 25+ years later. The fluff that the recent generations of girls have to look to is rather depressing. At least there are artists like Taylor Swift (not a great vocalist but writes her own songs and isn't shakin' her tail feathers - ahem, Beyonce) and Carrie Underwood, but I would like to hear more amazing female rock vocalists!
