Lou Gramm?

Postby Rip Rokken » Sat Oct 17, 2009 8:40 am

Playing close to me tonight and I'm trying to get out of a conflict to go see him. I'm pissing people off though, so there is a good chance I'll miss it... :( Has anyone seen him live lately and how is he sounding these days? My guess is the band is fantastic, and he does the best he can.

My dad caught him a few months back. Said he sounded good but obviously a lot huskier/lower. I'd see him if you can. I think he's much better than the YouTube footage shows him to be, especially the stuff that's a 1.5-2+ years old

I might just have to piss some people off then, and I'm OK with that if it comes down to it.

Heck, I'll make it up to them this weekend.

She surprised me wearing a Batgirl costume last night, so I really don't have much defense for being a jerk tonight. :)

That's too bad. Would've liked your take on how he's doing. I'm sure you'd have gotten to meet him.

StoneCold -- Actually, I didn't have any connections for this show, so I would have had to rely solely on star-stalking ninja skills to meet him. And that's not easy these days since I quit drinking a few years back. Alcohol gave me courage, numbed my conscience and sense of boundaries, and provided the understandable excuse if I ended up looking like an ass.

JSS Rocks -- LOL, I was trying not to make a joke about sliding down the Batpole or anything. I'd never say anything like that. :) I did take a photo though.

From what I've observed over the last 2 years, you now rely on being a really good dude, a great fan and a helluva friend to people. :) And your stalking ninja skills are still pretty good.

I haven't seen Lou for a long time. If you follow any of his recent Youtube stuff, he sounds like he's getting a lot better. I'd give it a shot Rip.

pssst..this was last nights thread. Lou done left the building.

Tonight is Rips anniversary. I'm hoping (for Rips sake), the trend continues tonight with Catwoman.

Spent most of the day upgrading home PCs and laptops to Windows 7, and organizing all my loot from trips that's been stacking up. We are about to chill out and spend some good quality time together in front of a hot, roaring TV.

Why thanks, Amigo! Wish we'd gotten to more of the same places this year, but at least there was JTTC. You've always been really cool to me too, and never fail to crack me up. :) Next year we'll have to find some gig to meet up for sure.
