They're going to keep making these clothes and styles that the average woman doesn't feel comfortable in, and soon enough they'll loose their revenue. Which I'm all for. Ralph Lauren's had the same designs and look for a million years.

And size 4 is NOT too big... :x

I don't know too many women that are size 4's, but from what I'm gathering this article is insane. These "numbers" are all bullshit. The "number" should fit the person...not the other way around.

The numbers ARE bullshit. I have pants that all fit, yet have all different sizes on the tags. It's horseshit.
You notice how this doesn't happen with mens' clothing?

Any man who finds that picture sexy is a man who has pedophilia issues. Gimme a full grown woman with a little meat on her bones.

I would think that someone 5'10" and size 4 would be one skipped meal away from hospitalization. I don't even see how her pelvis bones would fit into a 4.

I have a med-lg bone frame and at 5'8 my hip bones barely fit into a 4... if they're made with the relaxed fit or the flexible fabric I can wear them comfortably. But an honest-to-God non-vanity sized pair of old school Levi's, no way. Ain't happenin'.

A shame. To me, models are down right DISGUSTING. What man in this world loves bones? I love the way she looks, if anything she could add a few more. Word to all women, more meat, THEE better (But don't get it mixed up with obesity, but a little extra junk is no problem)

Only to a certain extent, if it was a thicker girl she'd have to be solid and a good athlete for me... I'm not gonna tolerate a lot of extra fat that's not good and solid, especially at our age... if it's like that now, just imagine in 15 years *shudder*. But yea, bone thin? no thanks... but they can't be much past in very good shape at this point for me.

Yes, I'll judge, fuck that. Plenty of girls prolly judge me for bein 5'8", I reserve the right

EDIT: Exceptions made for cougars with great faces, they can carry a little bit extra, not too much though.

Yea, that's pretty ridiculous. But women should really just get more secure in their own skin. You don't see me running around whining I don't have Christian Bale's biceps and hairline or can wear an Armani suit like the latest GQ model.

The celebs have nothing better to do than to work out and eat the healthiest food all day and look good. not to mention no stress, at least not day-to-day like the rest of us mere mortals have to deal with. They should look fuckin good.

I'm a size 4, and don't look anything like that. I'm 5'4" tall and weigh around 100 pounds. She makes me look fat.

See, that's why a tag size doesn't matter. I'm 3 inches shorter and 10 lbs heavier than you, but also wear a 4. I'm an absolute chunker next to her!!!

i'm close to the same size (5'3", 97lbs) & am probably on the verge of being underweight. after being bombarded with these unrealistic images & all the "lose weight to be healthier" articles, i occasionally find myself automatically limiting my food intake. it's as if i've been brainwashed by the media into acting this way, which is really fucked up & unhealthy. i can see how this can really mess with an impressionable teenager's mind & push her into anorexia.

as far as the vanity sizing - that's just downright INSULTING. i used to wear a juniors size 5 or womens size 4. the size of my body has not changed, but i'm lucky if a size 0 isn't too loose on me now. is fooling us into thinking we're smaller supposed to make us feel more attractive & make us buy more of that manufacturer's clothing? i've complained to store managers about the silly vanity sizing. not sure if that does any good.

We definitely agree on that point. Women shouldn't be held to some absurd standard. As long as you're healthy and feel good about who you are, none of the other stuff really matters.

That photo is laughable if anything! lol. It looks cartoony not airbrushed...who'd take that ad seriously? Anyway, the model looks just fine as she is in the real life pic, although, at 5'10" and 120 that is pretty skinny. Shame on Ralph Lauren (I do love my old RL bed comforter, 'tho).
The vanity sizing thing is nutty, too. I've been all over the scale from very skinny to overweight...but, now I'm wearing a size 4 jeans (which is probably the old size 8?) and I'm good with just being in the healthy range for my age & height.
