Pay attention to the choices. If it was up to you it'd be at ur backyard so you (and Phyl ) could just catch the show from your bedroom

Sorry, Larez....

Too far away, when NYC is a one-hour Train-Ride away.

I like SB or Chicago because they are central for travelers. If it's on one coast or the other it's a very long and expensive flight for some. :)

He would go. Not to the show though. He'd watch us from his hotel room window , while posting here and making fun of us , all by himself

I am disappointed Kansas City is not on the list. Reasons it should be include...

1. Central Location
2. Cheap airline tickets with many direct flights
3. Great food, especially steaks and BBQ
4. Great beer....Boulevard Brewing Company
5. Several excellent perfect sized venues around a first class entertainment district (Power & Light District)
6. Rich musical heritage...albeit jazz.
7. Plenty of mullet wearing baby boomers...Chiefs fans... that like to rock out
8. Midwestern hospitality

.... ok cant come up Top 10 list... oh well.

I'd LOVE if it was in Nashville. That would be outstanding. You could try to get it at the Ryman Auditorium. Talk about a hotbed of all different kinds of music. Plus, very easy to get in/out of.

This is silly... of course each person is going to pick the one that's closest to them, or their own town (if listed), and have a hundred allegedly "good reasons" why, claiming "oh no, it isn't just because I live here..."  Hey, I admit, I'd love it if it were (actually happening and) held in my city, but I'd have no problem with another locale, if it were a reasonable one.

I know that. Of COURSE I'd want that, just as most of us would be glad if it were near our home and we didn't have to go very far... but I also said I'm fine with anyplace it might be as long as it's a reasonable location. If everyone is needing to rent cars and it's in the middle of nowhere (like SB  ), I'd probably frown a bit. If it were somewhere insanely expensive like NY, yeah, not too cool.

Somewhere centally located AND in or near a major (hub) city would be easiest for the majority... no one has mentioned Milwaukee yet, that I saw... Milwaukee wouldn't be a bad idea - cheaper, decent area, plenty of venue options, since a lot of different music fests happen up there throughout the year, not in the middle of nowhere so there are places to go and no shortage of restaurants, and close to a major hub (O'Hare) for flight changes and driving. It's about 80-90 minutes from Chicago by car.

:!:

Of course, we still don't even know what this wombatastic mystery is. :?:
