What the...? Lego Rock Band?

QUEEN TO APPEAR IN LEGO® ROCK BAND™

In conjunction with the upcoming release of Absolute Greatest, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and MTV Games announced that LEGO® Rock Band™ will feature the likeness of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and multi-platinum selling group Queen. Appearing in the game as LEGO minifigures, front man Freddie Mercury, guitarist Brian May, bassist John Deacon and drummer Roger Taylor will be seen jamming to their hit anthems “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions.”

Guitarist Brian May said: “This is IT! I wanna play! When do I get my toy LEGO man?”

Roger Taylor said: "Almost like actually being in Queen!”

This also marks the release of the Queen pack for the Rock Band Music Store of downloadable content, featuring 10 of the band’s most loved songs including “Killer Queen,” “Somebody to Love,” “Fat Bottomed Girls” and the Queen/David Bowie collaboration, “Under Pressure.” In addition, Queen will release Absolute Greatest on Nov. 17, featuring 20 of the band’s biggest hits.

LEGO Rock Band puts the power of rock into the hands of tweens, teens, families and gamers of all ages as they go on a wild journey to stardom as they “Build a Band and Rock the Universe.” The game is developed by TT Games in partnership with Harmonix for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™ home videogame console. LEGO Rock Band for Nintendo DS™ is co-developed by TT Games and Harmonix in partnership with Backbone Entertainment, a Foundation 9 Entertainment studio. All versions are scheduled for release holiday 2009.

I bet the fans here would buy a journey lego rock band... especially if it was the classic version... and you could build your own Steve Perry...

My son and all his friends will friggen love this. I am so serious. All the Lego related video games are a hit with the youngens. What I dig about it is the kids exposure to great music doing something they love vs. from their parents. I know I didn't want to listen to my parents music when I was a kid.

I do support this aspect of the whole thing. From what I know of these games like guitar hero and rock band , they tend to feature decent music - like the guitar hero Aerosmith, etc... so that's one good thing, getting kids to appreciate real rock. You'll never see "Rock Band: Jimmy Eat World" or "Guitar Hero: Creed"

Is this serious? The Beatles article posted here the other day claimed that Beatles Rock Band failed because there are already too many Rock Band/Guitar Hero games out there...

Yep, you can pre-order on Amazon. IMO, the Beatles rock band probably didn't do very well because how challenging could it be :)
