You are so far off base with that comment. Sure, their political views are important to them and do show up in concert and music. But you obviously don't follow them or read their interviews or own their last several albums to say that's their main motivation. That's a broad comment coming from someone I suspect who doesn't follow them and generalizing the band. And I give Bono credit, he has always worked with both parties in America for his humanitarian efforts b/c he says he's more effective that way. They have acknowledged sometimes in the past his activism was getting in the way of their making music and didn't want that to overwhelm it, and have made efforts for it to be about the music. They are a spiritual band, except one, I think, and are deeply religious and have been since they formed, and it is reflected in their music that way in many songs.
