Certainly not me. I have no interest in watching who can buy the best team in a sport that doesn't interest me that much to begin with.

My best bet would be I'd fall asleep 2.3 seconds if I'd watch it. :)

No different than the Angels.

The Los Angeles Angles of Anaheim. What kind of a name is that? They're not even in the same county as the Dodgers.
Vladimir Guerrero needs to retire. He can't run and swings at everything from his nose to his toes. That was fine when he had the bat speed to compensate for it but those days are over.

Tell me how the Angels fit into my statement, 'buying a WS'.

Yankees spent yet again for Mark Texeira.....that's buying a WS. Front office, and Joe G are feeling the pressure to win one this decade.

Granted, the Sox were pursuing Tex too....and maybe he was going to NY no matter what Theo & Co. offered, but the fact remains that we didn't offer some outlandish amount just to land him....

The Yankmee's have a thousand different ways to get around a salary cap and it wouldn't surprise me if they had a few umps in the pocket as well. They BOUGHT the damn team and they've basically BOUGHT another pennant as well. Another WS is next. What needs to happen here is for the Yankmee's to win 4, 5, 10 straight World Series' and then MLB can watch their income drop horribly from other teams and cities as less and less fans buy tickets and take less interest in the game. Maybe they'd wake up and come up with much more strict rules for salary caps, deferred payments, bonuses, etc...

While I agree that buying a team of All Stars certainly increases your chances of being successful, they still have to play the games. They were horrible the first 3rd of the year, and for whatever reason the team chemistry wasn't there. All of the sudden it popped and for the most part it hasn't stopped. Unfortunately, too, the Angels are about the only AL team that can conistently beat the Yankees and while they made a better series of it than the Dodgers did with the Phillies, the Angels didn't play nearly as well as they can. I can't stand either team in the WS, so i am not sure who i am going to root for. The Yankees are the Yankees and all the Phillies players and fans have gotten so cocky about getting there two years in a row, they seemed to forget that they sucked for years.

You don't think the Angels spent money on Texeira the year before or Tori Hunter or Fuentes? Artie Moreno spends like it's going out of style, just like the yanks.
Texeira wanted to be a Yankee, that's why he went there rather than re-sign with the Angels for 160 million. Moreno figured that out and withdrew his bid.

Despite continuously having the highest payroll the last few years, how many titles have the Yankees won since 2001. What did Texas win after signing A- Rod for 200 million a few years back?
