Condelences go out to Bruce Springsteen who lost a cousin yesterday while in Kansas City.

He cancelled the show, while thousands were already lined up and ready to enter the venue. What a tough decision to make. There were stories of folks flying in from all over. Bad deal all the way around.

I had hoped to go, but could not do to a conflict. What a bummer for everyone.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Bruce Springsteen canceled a performance in Kansas City after police say a road crew member was found dead in a hotel.

Sprint Center arena said Monday night's show was canceled because of a death in Springsteen's "immediate family."

Kansas City police spokesman Capt. Rich Lockhart said officers were investigating the nonsuspicious death of a 34-year-old member of Springsteen's road crew Monday afternoon at Kansas City's Intercontinental Hotel.

Lockhart said he didn't know if that death was the one that prompted cancellation of the show less than two hours before Springsteen and the E Street Band were to take the stage. The crew member's name was not released.

A call to Springsteen's publicist was not immediately returned.

The Sprint Center said tickets would be refunded.

That would have been a shock. I don't blame Bruce. The day family does not come first is the day you have your priorities in life all wrong. You can replace concert tickets, redo the gig, give refunds, etc., but you can't replace your family.

Very true, except I dont think cancelling the show or redoing the gig will actually replace his cousin :P I know what you meant, just had to give you a hard time.... My condolences to Bruce & Family + RockingDeano ....

So what the fuck you propose Vince McMahon? Play the show with an extremely heavy heart and give fans less than 100% effort? No way. Bruce couldn't possibly concentrate and perform. There is more time to play Kansas City. Lenny Sullivan, 36, was Bruce's immediate cousin and road manager. Kind of close and important wouldn't you think? This is the second death in two years for this band, and while Lenny was only 36, and Danny Federici was a bit older, it should remind us that our bands we grew up with aren't young any longer and to prepare for some losses in the near future. Look at Journey- I hate to say this, but there are some in that family that have left us recently and there could be more sooner rather than later.

Spending 30 seconds extra to understand comprehend what I said , might have given you a clue that I was agreeing with Steveo (and Springsteen's decision) , and was just merely messing with Steveo , the way he worded things, Mr Phyl ;)

 How sad for Springsteen & family - and he had been on such a lucky streak this year. But then life always throws a curve ball like that to ruin the bliss.

Who left, Dean? And yes, this is a very sobering thought.

Well we lost Jack Villenueva recently. Herbie is a 1/4 pounder from a coronary, and Ross needs a fuckin walker he is so old. Making funnies yes, but I don't want to see RV kick the bucket, just sayin.' As for Bruce, fuck, he's 60, and Clarence is 70! Clarence has a personal elevator to reach the stage! What's Neal, 58? Cain, 55? Granted, Bruce, Neal and Cain all aged extremely well, but some of their bandmates haven't.
