Cracking open a Time Capsule

Over the last few weeks I've been going through stuff around the house and tossing things out and giving things away to friends and charity that I do not use anymore. The wife was the one who got the ball rolling on this operation actually. We're doing some things to better our lives and whatnot and part of that is getting rid of a bunch of shit from the past.

The other day I cracked open a box of shit I had up in one of the closets. Amazing what I came across. This box of shit is probably a collection of some of the oldest shit I think I have in my possession. In the box along with a bunch of other shit were five brand new Boss guitar pedals still in their original boxes that I had purchased new in Japan back in late 86'. I only used those pedals for a few months when I bought them. I then got out my old Fender Strat. in it's original soft leather case, though I know it's not real leather, it's that vinyl shit. Inside the pouch was a spray can of "fingerjet" for the fret board, a few sets of new strings and 9v batteries still in their original unopened packaging which are labeled with an expiration date of "June 1991". Wow! This sure brought back some good memories. I hadn't taken the pedals out of their boxes or had opened up the pouch of the guitar case since about mid 87. I stopped playing this guitar and using these pedals after meeting my girlfriend in Japan, plus I moved on to only singing by that time and not playing guitar anymore.

Pretty neat to run across this shit again after so many years.

Anyone ever have any similar experiences?

Kind of. Slowly working my way through my mother's stuff, including about 30 boxes she had in storage. Some of this stuff I don't remember seeing since high school. Still waiting to find the box with the photo albums and hoping her LPs are in one of them.

What's up with the LP's? Why are you hoping you run across them?

What's a scat fetish? I know I could just look it up on the internet, but I think it's better if you tell me what you mean.

To me, all this stuff is shit cause it's old and I've been clinging onto it for stupid senseless reasons. Like I kept the clothes that I wore to a concert in Tokyo in 05' just because I was at that concert with those clothes on, you know what I mean? stupid shit.

Still have no idea and I'm not getting out the dictionary or googling that to find out what it is.... It has a sinister sound to it I can tell you that.

She had some good stuff but I don't know what happened to them. I'm hoping they are in the boxes of stuff that were in storage, otherwise they're gone.
