Adam Lambert's CD Cover

I may check this CD when it comes out. Looks interesting and refreshing. This homosapien as we know is the real winner of AI. I just feel somewhat bad for Kris Allen for his cd will be completely obliterated by Adam's album. Lambert is controversial, flamboyant and talented. Proven formula to sell himself successfully to the masses.

It's got a Ziggy Stardust vibe to it.

One of the worst album covers ever. He's a pretty solid performer and amazing personality, but there are plenty of ways to still be er....well...."colourful" and not look utterly cringeworthy.

If I saw the cover and did not know his music, I would not buy it.

There's nothing that screams flamer worse than this. I hope he enjoys singing in venue's performing for 12 year old girls. 4 years tops for this dude, just like the rest of them, minus Kelly Clarkson, and Carrie Underwood.

Adam's been one of the best singers and performers on the show for quite some time.

That said, this album cover is wretched.

he should be pretty embarrassed by the cover. Looks like they're taking the Leif Garrett, Rex Smith marketing approach. BuhBye any hope to be taken seriously as an artist.

Word is that Friga is producing it.....Adam's doing a cover of the cover of the cover of 'Faithfully'.

Well, I love Adam's singing but I don't like this cover . I listened to a sample this morning and it sounds too Michael Jackson to me. His closing song -Time for Miracles for 2012 movie is so incredible on YouTube. He outsings anyone I have ever heard. What I am waiting to see is for him to go out with Queen. He told Brian May " I would love to". I think he will be huge for a long time and many other countries are aware of him. He will be worldwide.

Adam Lambert's CD Cover Elicits Sharply Divided Reactions
It turns out that “Ring of Fire” was only the tip of the iceberg. When former musical theatre actor performed the iconic Johnny Cash song as a Middle Eastern jam on “American Idol,” it was the start of a string of bold, polarizing performances that garnered him an ardent following.

Lambert’s daring choices have continued with the selection of his CD cover, which was unveiled on Tuesday to wildly mixed commentary. The heavily designed cover image depicts the “Idol” runner-up as an electric-blue-haired androgyne, replete with gold eyeshadow and requisite guyliner. Oh, and he’s floating in space, possibly naked, save for the open-fingered glove he’s wearing.

Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" CD Cover
Entertainment Weekley’s Michael Slezak offered a trenchant analysis of the image, spotting, for example, references to Madonna, Prince and Michael Jackson in what is easily the most over-the-top album cover to come out of eight seasons of “American Idol.”

Reaction from the public has been wildly divided, with fans embracing the image’s camp sensibility and detractors questioning the singer’s level of taste. One thing neither side has been is quiet: EW.com’s analysis has engendered over 1,300 comments while idolforums.com, a popular hangout for “Idol” fans, has close to 2000 postings on the topic of the CD cover.

Perhaps in defense of the cover selection, Lambert himself entered the fray, twittering “Thank you to those who appreciate and understand that the album cover is deliberately campy. It’s an omage to the past. It IS ridiculous” and “For those that don’t get it: oh well… Glad to have gotten your attention.”

Whether or not the cover reflects the contents of Lambert’s debut recording will have to wait until Nov. 23, when “For Your Entertainment” drops.

Adam will end up the John Parr, or Michael Sembello of the 2010s. He'll get pidgeon-holed into soundtrack-itis. Either that of he'll limit himself so much, style-wise, that he'll just be a 'cult' figure.....IMHO the song sucks.

Melinda Doolittle can sing rings around this 'dude'.

I think it's pretty hilarious and a great marketing ploy....Good luck to him....though I only hope that we don't hear Adam in another couple years whining about not being taken seriously as an "artiste."

That cover is WAY too fruity. His skin is overly airbrushed. I'm thinking he could use a Sharpie.
