Hmm... the first two are two of my favorites of all time. Don't know how I feel about this. No Mel which might be for the better since he's getting up there, but at the same time, how can you have someone else play his role?

THat's what I said about the upcoming Elm St. movie, and I seemed to be in the minority. :? But I'm hoping they do such a good job with the script and the direction that it will distract me from the casting.

I never did actually see the Mad Max movies, but I know that if I saw the new one, I'd still be like "It's not Mel! Not the same!"

You should definitely see the first two if you like sci-fi/action/postapocalyptic movies even one bit.

Never saw either one. Are they better than Escape From New York?

Hmm... that's another favorite of mine. They're up there. The world they create in these movies is nothing short of cinematic genius, especially for its time.

Mad Max sequel without Gibson is like Lethal Weapon V without Riggs... oh same person.

I don't care if he's old, drunk and hated. Without the original actor, the sequel isn't worth the time. Replacing Jodie Foster for Hannibal with Julianne Moore sucked. Hopkins and the boars had to pick up the slack.

Not by me he's not. I think he's great. Loved his drunken profanity-laced tirade when he was pulled over.

Yuch. How are they going to redo the storyline to make this appear plausible. The original movie came out using the Afghanistan scenario to try and make the story seem even minutely possible, not to mention the threat of attack by the Russian Bear was in the back of a few people's minds back then, in Europe at the very least.. I can't imagine how much more suspension of Disbelief will be required this time around.

I was looking for some classic car chase scenes for the Great Movie Scene Thread when I came across this. It's a montage of different chase scenes from Road Warrior set to Flirtin' With Disaster by Molly Hatchet. So this is for all you Mad Max and car chase fans out there. :D

Since that incident I've been known to call my wife "sugar tits"! I had never heard that before.
