That would be cool. Steve Perry, frontman for Aerosmith.

If Schon refuses to play a Diane Warren song, Joe will do it.

Aerosmith is already in the HOF. 150 million album sales worldwide. No need for Wal-Mart.

Excellent point. They don't need to cling to ST's scarves.

you all do know that joe perry's wife, billie, found hagen, the singer for joe perry project, on youtube, right?

http://www.blender.com/blender-blog/844 ... perry.html

How did you find Have Guitar, Will Travel vocalist Hagen?

My wife Billie and I were on the Internet. We were up late, seeing what was new, checking out our favorite sites, and Billie finds this guy on YouTube and says, 'You gotta hear this guy sing, he's fantastic.' She played me the video, and man—this guy Hagen was singing up a storm.

So after a series of phone calls, we convinced Hagen we were the real deal. We bought him a plane ticket and he came over. After we started jamming, I realized he was the one for what I had in mind.

It makes sense. No more protooled demos. Why not use it? It saves a hell of a lot of time and expense. It only took Neal about 3 days to find a new singer.

Flying in people to listen to in person because you're wondering if they using audio magic on their audition tapes has to be a pain in the ass, considering your the one fitting the travel bills. Live clips on Youtube can help cut the pool in half as you can throw out all the ones that aren't singing live and start your search with what's left.

Hopefully he's in rehab some place getting sober and that's why no one has heard from him, but it doesn't look good for ST. :(

If this is true.. (and I hope it isn't)... then Tyler will be dead within a year or two... with no band & management pestering him to stay sober.. he'll lose to his demons...

http://www.timesnow.tv/Steven-Tyler-qui ... 331608.cms

After entertaining music lovers for more than four decades, Rock group Aerosmith might be on the verge of a break up after the band's guitarist Joe Perry saying that frontman Steven Tyler has quit. Perry said that Tyler has not been in touch with the group after their performance was in Abu Dhabi, Las Vegas Sun reported. "Steven quit as far as I can tell. I don't know anymore than you do about it. I got off the plane two nights ago. I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band," Perry said.

Hold on!

JP read this online and "as far as he can tell" Tyler has quit? Is it just me, or should he maybe try and get it from the source before talking to the media? Unless I've missed other stories or developments here somewhere.... which is entirely probable.

And that one photo of him where he is so skinny and with his plastic surgery looks like Mary Tyler Moore makes me sad.

Sounds like Aerosmith may be looking to replace him. Interesting that they say he's pursuing a solo career instead of being wasted on whatever he's been trashing himself on.

A local Boston news station also reported that Tyler was out of Aerosmith on the news this evening. They simply said that "he quit the band". Pretty fucked up story. This isn't Journey who rolls a new singer out every 60 days. This is a band that has been at it for over 40 years and have never gone away. Truly bizarre shit.

Indeed. With Journey, it has become almost expected, unfortunately.

This is just weird. Aerosmith has been around longer tham *I* have. It's sad.
I grew up this that as much as I did with Journey. I'm just sad that I only got to see Aerosmith once.

there hasn't been any official statement from steven that says he has quit aerosmith, yet people are spreading the news as if it is fact. all the news originates from this classic rock article written by peter makowski - http://www.classicrockmagazine.com/news ... -vacation/ . in the article, peter questions the future of aerosmith, but does not say that steven has quit or that aerosmith is over. the circumstances don't look good though & it doesn't help that joe has been venting his frustrations the way he has. i am holding onto one last bit of hope that they will work something out. i haven't worked with aerosmith for many years (lora & i ran aero force one from 1985-2001), but this is really stressing me out - both as a fan that may be losing one of her favorite bands & as someone who knows that rumours can sometimes get out of control & make things worse.

that's funny... I've said the same thing a million times here whenever a certain singer is mentioned to be working with someone or on something and everyone runs with it. I'm always the one going: ummmm, guys... "there hasn't been any official statement from steve(n) ..." LOL!!

A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes. ~ Mark Twain, (attributed)

I'll admit, I've not gone looking for info about it simply because I know it will show up here eventually. But this is a good point... just because info shows up, doesn't mean it's right. The media is responsible for the worst games of "telephone" ever. They don't get it right at the start, then people just take what they hear as fact because the big glowing screen told them so and pretty soon, Tyler has left Aerosmith, Perry has a new album out next week, and Jeff Goldblum fell off a cliff just an hour after Michael Jackson might have kinda sorta died, or something.
