BRING BACK SITCOMS!!!

Okay, here is where I tend to get very opinionated. KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS.

Why oh why do the Kardashians have their own show? I understand it’s because one of those spoiled, big-booty, bitchy, rude- to-their-parents sisters did a sex tape with a has-been singer’s younger brother who attempts to pass himself off as “straight” on his own t.v. show, but great googly moogly, c’mon!!! A 2-hour show where the youngest sister gets married to a ball player? Who cares? First of all he brotha’s too tall, he’s got a face like a blow fish and he has what, 2 or 3 kids and a baby’s mama? And that gal. All she’s got going for her but a big butt, big lips, money and good hair!

Seriously, how spoiled and ill-trained do you have to be to call your mom a “bitch” and to talk to your adopted dad like he’s an idiot? Those parents barely roll their eyes at their kids! Come to think of it the mother is a dumb bitch for allowing her girls to talk to her like that. And the dad, well he looks like he is in transition for a sex change. Oh, and that boy child might as well mail his peenie to his ex-girlfriend.

I realize the economy ate up Hollywood and sponsors are saving their money, I mean one sitcom costs about half a mil per show to create, so I can understand why they are out. Reality shows cost a fraction and are not completely recognized by the unions. But, reality shows bite, they really do. There is a reason fantasy programs were good, CAUSE THEY ARE ENTERTAINING! Bring back sitcoms and variety shows, that’s what I want, fantasy with canned laughter for ½ hour.

I can change the channel, yea, but you get my drift. That Kardashian family is NOT entertainment! Now, I would watch a sitcom about that disgusting spectacle of a family for sure! So, who else is with me on this? BRING BACK SITCOMS!! Anyone? Hello? :D

the classlessness of this family is shocking to me last season. The mother practically whores her daughters out for this show. And I caught a couple of the new shows this season in Miami with the two sisters, Khloe and Kourtney, and all they say is he boned you, boned this, boned that. I'm thinking, how sweet, wait until your children watch you one day on this show and see how mommy really was such a class act. But I do believe Kim Kardashian is a sweet girl.

I agree. Two And A Half Men is about the only good one left I can think of off the top of my head.

I like that one too but also love "30 Rock". But then I think I like Tina Fey's humor. Cougar town has potential, but it depends on if you like that kind of humor. I don't think I have any other sitcoms I watch right now. I meant to tape some of the new ones to try them but never got around to it.

Same here. I barely watch network TV anymore. I watch Food Network or TLC and things like that. If I want sitcoms, I watch TV Land.

It's ok... but Big Bang Theory, which is on right after, it really rocks - by far the funniest thing on TV since Cheers IMO!

I've never actually seen any of that one, will have to check it out.

And Gunny, nice AV, I love almost any shade of blue, my favorite color, and that's sooooo pretty.

Agree! I love Big Bang Theory. Sheldon is hilarious. :D We used to record 2 1/2 Men, but it's so crude now that it's just not funny anymore to me.

Sitcoms are like the girl I might call when I'm really drunk at 2 AM. I don't really partake regularly, but I enjoy them when I do.

Two and Half Men is great, so is 30 Rock from what I've seen. That's about all I know that's on modern day TV. More of a drama/action guy myself - Sopranos, The Wire, The Shield, 24, Prison Break, Law and Orders, The Unit etc

I like watching TVLand, also. Love Andy Griffith!

The only network shows I watch now are Castle & Medium.

That is the only one I make a point of not missing an episode. I like the CSIs and Law & Order SVU and a couple other shows but 24 is by far my fave.

I love TV Land but am also addicted to CSI (Las Vegas) and am totally addicted to House Hunters, Property Virgins and anything where they are remodeling something.

Becker, Frasier, Two And A Half Men are some of my faves too. :) I hate the day that "reality" TV shows came to be. They aren't real and I swear people get dumb from watching them. Anyone these days can be in one and be "famous" and rich and don't really have to do anything to earn their money. Give me the real actors and actresses that actually have talent. BTW- I think Kim Kardashian is nothing like what she is portrayed as on that show. The rest of the family though... Sheesh.

Two and a Half Men is a great show and hilarious! As good as it is, I still can't bring myself from pining for the days of "All In The Family". Thank god for TV Land allowing Archie Bunker to live forever.

No, thank god for DVDs, so that when TV Land does seasonal lineup changes, I don't lose my shows! :D

My favorite thing was when they started throwing all the TV shows onto dvd!! See, I NEED background noise. It just must be there. I'm ususally half-listening to whatever it is while doig other things, so it still needs to be something I like... so if there's nothing of interest on TV, I throw on a dics of sitcoms. It doesn't matter that I'm only half watching since I've seen them all, but it's still something I'm entertained by!

For this reason (off-topic rant coming in 3... 2... 1...) I'm really disgruntled by DVDs that don't have the "play all" option, and you have to go back to the menu and hit 'play' for each episode. I just want to hit play and not have to do anything else until the disc ends. "All in The Family" and "Sex & the City" are like that. Bah! Happily, the "Friends" discs were done the right way.

I'm with ya, MBPL - WTH with the Kardashians! I had seen a couple episodes only after Kim was on Dancing with the Stars and I couldn't figure out why they kept showing Bruce Jenner in the audience (yes, her step-dad is Bruce, the Olympic hero who once looked manly & hot in '76 and is no longer)...anyway, turns out the Kardashians are also somewhat famous for their real father being the lawyer on the OJ Simpson trial & the mother was best friend's with the victim, Nicole Simpson. But, how they got a t.v. show is beyond me. Kim is pretty & seems okay, but those other two sisters are snots.

I am guilty of tuning into two other reality shows - one was Denise Richards & the other Tori Spelling - they are actually pretty funny sometimes. I rarely get the t.v. remote so not much on after everyone else goes to bed.

Why is it that there are 900 channels and nothing good on? I remember when there were only 3 channels and sometimes 4 if the rabbit ears were aligned just right.

Some sitcoms were great, but others were "stoopid" :) I'll watch re-runs of the classics when they find their way to a channel but I haven't seen any "Happy Days", "Bewitched", "Dick Van Dyke" (my fave), etc. in a long time. I'll always watch "Friends" & "I Love Lucy" if I see it on. M.A.S.H is a given - a great show.

Other sitcoms - ones, like the one with Jim Belushi or the UPS guy, fall into the "stoopid" category. The writing is not clever or funny from what I've seen...the acting is overdone.

Mostly, I watch Food Network or HGTV..."House Hunters" where people are trying to find a house & the end result when they transform it (although, I practically scream at the t.v. every time I hear them say they want granite counter tops!!! I hate granite! Why would anyone want gravestone material in their kitchens & baths?! - yeah, I'm a little sensitive since I've been out looking at houses and that is all I see...I don't care if it is easy to clean - it's ugly.)

If you're referring to "King Of Queens", I couldn't disagree more. That was one of the funniest shows put on tv in the past 20 years and anyone who has been married for more than 20 minutes can probably relate to a lot of the interaction between the husband and wife on that show! Hell, I'm convinced the show was written about my marriage

I can tell you that you are definitely in the minority in that category. I've worked in the real estate/mortgage profession for the past 10 years and you can't sell certain houses in a certain price range without granite countertops! Luckily for you, if you really loathe granite that much, downgrading to a lesser material is significantly less expensive than having to tear out laminate countertops and put granite in!
