My Friend's Daughter Is Missing

Postby Peartree12249 » Tue Nov 10, 2009 2:44 pm

Tonight my husband came home and told me that a good friend's adult daughter and mother of three children is missing. They recently rescued her from an abusive marriage and she has filed for divorce. She disappeared from their home on Saturday. She sent the kids to play in a nearby park and said she'd be there in a few min and never arrived. She doesn't have a car and left without taking anything including her purse. Her parents are frantic. In addition, she is suffering from depression and the emotional after affects of years of abuse at the hands of her husband so they are also afraid she may have harmed herself or had a mental breakdown. The police have brought blood hounds to the home in hopes of tracking her and are trying to access her e-mail to see if she may have had someone pick her up.

Please keep this family in your thoughts & prayers that they may see the safe return of their daughter.

If she instigated her leaving, she probably would have taken her purse. Women don't ever leave without one as a norm. Prayers out to all concerned.

No not yet. It's supposed to hit the news tomorrow morning. We're hoping that she did plan to leave, but to just leave her kids alone in a park doesn't seem right either. Although no one is sure what her mental state may have been. Her parents were out of town and didn't find out about her being gone until Saturday night.

Muskego police seek leads on missing woman

By Jesse Garza / Nov. 9, 2009 11:40 p.m.

A Town of Muskego woman who was supposed to meet her children at a local park has been missing for more than two days, the town's police chief said Monday night.

Kathryn Cruz, 32, was last seen by her 3-year-old daughter and 10- and 12-year-old sons shortly before 11 a.m. Saturday, Police Chief Grant Turner said.

Cruz sent her children to a local park, where she was supposed to meet them. However she never showed up, Turner said.

When the children returned to their home on Stonegate Drive their mother was not there. However, her keys and cell phone were still there, Turner said.

Police also said her car was parked in the driveway of her home.

Cruz is described as 5-feet-8 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds, with light brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray, hooded zip-up Abercrombie & Fitch sweat shirt.

More information is expected to be released at a news conference scheduled for 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Town of Muskego Police Department.

Anyone with information about Cruz's whereabouts is asked to call the Town of Muskego Police Department, (262) 363-5188.

Peartree: I'm so sorry for what your friend is going through. Make sure you check in with her often. She may not ask you for anything b/c she may not want to impose, but she needs you more than ever right now.

I will keep her in my prayers.

They just announced her disappearance on TV this morning. I'm taking off work and will be helping the family with search efforts. Waiting for my friend to e-mail over the flyer so we can start making copies and distributing them. Keep those prayers coming folks.

Just a thought, cause media coverage is key in situations like this. Has the family called "Nancy Grace"? Not everyone likes her, but there's no doubt she is a pitbull when it comes to getting the news out when someone is missing. If she were covered on that show, it might yield faster results. Just a suggestion.

Hoping for the best...

This may be positive news. As long she hasn't had a run in with bad elements or harmed herself.

Search continues for missing Mukwonago mother

By Mike Johnson / Nov. 10, 2009

A Town of Mukwonago woman missing since Saturday disappeared after asking her children what type of mother she has been, Police Chief Grant Turner said Tuesday.

Kathryn Cruz, 32, then sent her three children to a local park shortly before 11 a.m., told them she would meet them there, but never showed up, Turner said.

"So we are concerned about her mental state at this time," Turner said, adding that it's possible that she walked away.

The woman and her husband are going through a divorce, her family members said at a news conference at the Town of Mukwonago Town Hall.

Cruz has been stressed by the pending divorce because while she has custody of the children, their 3-year-old girl and 10- and 12-year-old boys have been living with their father, Adrian Cruz, so they could continue attending their school in Milwaukee County, Kathryn Cruz's mother, Pat Esposito said.

Grant said while there was no reason to suspect foul play in Kathyrn Cruz's disappearance that he also could not rule it out at this time.

Police searched her home and found the woman's keys, cell phone, wallet, purse and car there, Turner said.

The husband was at a birthday party on Saturday at the time Kathyrn Cruz disappeared, Turner said.

The father picked the children up on Saturday after they called him and told him their mother didn't meet them and that they could not reach her on her cell phone, Turner said.

A helicopter and search dogs were being used Tuesday to search areas south of her home at S86 W30494 Stonegate Drive in the Stonegate subdivision, Grant said. The area being searched includes woods and fields of corn that have not yet been harvested, he said.

Dogs searched an area north of the home on Monday but found no sign of Kathryn Cruz, he said.

Cruz is described as 5-feet-8 inches tall, weighing 135 pounds, with light brown hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray, hooded zip-up Abercrombie & Fitch sweat shirt.

Anyone with information about Cruz's whereabouts is asked to call the Town of Mukwonago Police Department, (262) 363-5188.

Could be a cry for help, not wanting to keep the kids. Not saying she doesn't love them, but she may not be ready to handle 3 kids on her own, and by going "missing" is a way for the dad to keep them. Not saying that is the case, but has happened to people in the past with two much pressure on them. Some can't handle it and go off for a time, not thinking clearly, and some choose on purpose to go off so that the kids will be takin from them. I do hope everything turns out good. I don't know your friend, but I have seen what divorce has done to people and families. I some cases it hurts worth than a death in the family.

Good point, hopefully its a case like the runaway bride. Maybe she boarded a greyhound to get away for awhile.
