Okay, you don't HAVE to, but I'd appreciate it if you could listen to Alex's new axe-work on our song "If We Believe". I had posted the 1st half of the song last week, but I just pulled that one down, and just posted the newly re-recorded 2nd half of the song! :D This song is by far the most epic and "modern" sounding song I've ever written. It's probably around 6 1/2 minutes long from start to finish.

I hope you like it, and please give us some feedback if you get a minute. I really think this is one of the best, most melodic solos that Alex has ever recorded! We are having some issues with Ruben's bass making a "popping" sound here and there, so you'll have to overlook that.

Bossy..........Don't listen........Listen NOW! NO! I won't! I will not be intimidated by the gentle tickling of your ivory keys over my ears. The enticing tunes that sooth my weary mind after a day of loud rude teanagers and drudgery, nay, I say it is too much! How dare you expect me to be enthralled by the glorious tunes that you carress my ears with like a puppy licking its amorous affections. You are the cruelest of minstrals GI JIM! The torturer of your patrons, the siren of satan, the milker of dry cows! How do you expect us to be tempted day after day with no album to hold in our hands. No repreive from the daily tease and run that you thrust on us like a bimbo blonde after an all night binge. You shameful wench of wenches, temptress of smelly vagrants, wart on the bum of a southbound baboon.

Jim, if you will allow me to be critical for a moment...

I listened to the song roughly 4 times....And honestly, what turns me off is the overuse of the 'sustain'(I don't know if this is the correct term) that is used on almost every ending word of your phrasing.... :?

I hope I'm not being too critical....

Also, i assume these are just rough tracks.... :?

On a couple of the songs I felt no power.....I just felt an emptiness to the overall music. To me, IMHO, it sounds like early 80s VERY LITE AOR, along with early 80s production values....

You asked for feedback, I hope you don't take this as rude.

You are talented both as a vocalist and guitarist. You have a real warmth in your voice which is sensual and thats a good thing to have for a male singer singing love songs. I wish you and Jim much success with this CD. :)

The "sustain" you're talking about is actually a delay effect. We have it on most of the songs, but it'll be changed on the final songs. I definitely agree with you there.

As far as the "power" goes, I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that we don't have live drums yet. They'll change these songs a lot. Also, the songs you hear aren't finished or mastered yet. Mastering these will bring all of the levels up and make them sound much more "full". We'll also be adding a lot of little guitar and keyboard parts, as well as stacking some pretty huge vocals on there.

I definitely don't take offense to it, and I'm glad for the feedback! I hope you like them once we get them finished.

I was thinking you guys could be more like this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYnvjHzFDvw

Your singer seems like he wants to sing a different genre. He appears to want to sing progressive. Unless I'm wrong he has a much more powerful voice than what is showcased on these few tracks....and I can hear that desire to sing more powerfully. :?
