Never forget all of the sacrifices, courage, and patriotism our veterans have shown us over the years.

I am not one for "Remember This Day" kinda stuff, seeing as how there is a day for everything these days, but these men and women deserve to be specially remembered for having the fortitude to do something 99% of us wouldn't even dream of doing, let alone be capable of doing.

my wifes brother was killed in Vietnam... her other brother is retired airforce..... her dad was D-Day +2... battle of the buldge... he saw it all.. war was hell...but the freedoms gained... is the cause...
my dad was WWII towards the end of it... he hated war himself, but they all know the reasons why they serve... the troops--most of them know why they join and serve... for today and tomorrow... and the next generation... just my thouhts...

today I honor all the vets my way... by saying thank you for all you do!! Just know ALL of our freedoms our fragile...

But then I think the point of thanking the veterans of today, as well as WWII is that those people (including you) signed up by choice. They know at any time they may be ordered to do something that puts their lives on the line, willing to give up their lives, yes, even if it's a cause they don't believe in. That makes me actually more thankful that there are still
people willing to do that for our country. They don't get to choose who places them where or why. Someone has to do this though. If they didn't there would be a draft and then you'd have a lot of unwilling people forced. I think that makes me want to thank them more for sacrificing possibly their lives by choice. And you can say they get degrees, money and other things that are there real reasons, but the fact is it was still a choice. A choice I wasn't willing to make so I'm thankful there are people who do.

I know you must have your personal reasons for feeling how you do. And it's your right. But I think thanking the people who put their lives on the line for us is what it's about. I feel that way with any jobs like this. Police, fire, etc. They all do these things because they want to. And we're lucky they do.
