Haha, it's bound to happen when you play to the crowd as much as he does, changing up lyrics to fit the hometown on many songs and all that.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - The curse of Friday the 13th struck Bruce Springsteen in a most unusual way: it made the 60-year-old rock legend forget where he was.

The Boss bellowed "Hello, Ohio!" to his fans at the Auburn Hills Palace in Michigan.

Springsteen referred to the neighboring state several times in the following 30 minutes until E Street Band guitarist Steve Van Zandt whispered in his ear.

A visibly embarrassed Springsteen grinned and said such a mistake was "every front man's nightmare."

According to The Detroit Free Press, Springsteen rocked the forgiving audience for nearly three hours Friday night with new and old hits including a complete performance of his album "Born to Run."

how cool would this be?! of course you'd have to be a fan.

 gotta love bruce, nice recovery.

Why is this even a story? Most singers have done this.
Perry used to have the name of the city taped in front of the drums for this reason.

Not a real big deal.

I wouldn't think it would be normally. Someone at the Freep made it a story!!
The big game is coming , I can just hear RR's pep talk now, "even Bruce
doesn't think you're significant, now go kick some Buckeye a**!!!"
 :P

i live for that stuff... shows they're only human. i doubt anyone in that audience cared. }:C)

one of my favorite concert moments was when we went to see the goo goo dolls & johnny rzeznik lost his mic. he was holding his mic stand over the fans & the mic fell off. love those real moments.

oh... & when jss fell on his backside at the hollywood bowl! THAT was awesome! }=C)) no one cared & he recovered nicely. }:C)) i think i recall jss doing "rain" angels while down. haha!

Funny you saw that happen to Rzenik. When I saw them two or three years ago when they were touring with the Counting Crows, Adam Duritz or whoever the Crows lead singer is literally fell off the stage and into the crowd  . He played it off pretty well and hte band kept jamming while he got his fat ass back on stage... but then someone had to hand him his mic that he didn't bring with him! Definitely the funniest concert moment I've ever seen in person.

sometimes, watching artists creatively recover from these minor boo-boos is really entertaining. makes the show that much more special.

did someone write the wrong city on bruce's duct tape? i'm guessing that most arena artists have no idea what city they're in when they hit the stage.

It's a big deal because of who he is. Hell, I am downloading this boot right now because I have to have a BS fuck up to laugh about. He has played 5 entire albums on this tour and a 6th to come next week, 134 different songs...I would give him a pass on the city fuck up, but I am in California, a western state, where we are all huge expanse areas. I was just in Philadelphia catching his show and I couldn't keep track of what state I was in- Delaware, NJ, PA, NY...geez, all so small. He fucked up, simple as that.

If AP did that, he wouldn't catch Hell, but the question is, would AP even think to address the city he is in? I don't know, I haven't seen him live but for 1/2 a show. AP's show is very structured compared to Springsteen's. AP plays the same set every night, so it's kind of mechanical. Bruce plays different each and every show. I can see him fucking this up. They guy is pure shit, overrated and a scumbag.

When I read the title of this thread, I thought it was about his alleged affair. That one seemed to magically go away. A few dollars spent there, eh?

You wouldn't have been in Delaware. It doesn't exist.

Ever met anyone from there? Known anyone who has been there? Me either.
I noticed that you used the whole word ^ .... See? No one even knows "Delaware's" postal code.

Is that bolded part in reference to Arnel or Bruce? Either way, explain! I'm no fan of Arnel's (any more), but I don't think I'd call him a scumbag. If it's Bruce then I DEFINITELY want an explanation. lol

Don't disrespect the nations very first state, the home of the first president and the home of the current Vice President. Nothing wrong with the First State.
