5 yr old N.C. girl found dead

I think mandatory sterilization is in order unless the mom gets an immediate death sentence.

Grrrr! I've always thought you should have to pass some kind of a test to become a parent. Heck you have to to drive a vehicle. Nothing pisses me off more. Saw a young couple downtown, she looked obviously drunk and he looked right out of it, and the poor child in the stroller was crying his little head off, dirty tears streaming down his face.......gawd only knows the last time he ate or had his diaper changed. Just broke my heart! Especially seeing one of my bestfriends not be able to conceive, the hoops her and her husband had to jump through. Saw them through 2 adoptions that fell through, one the mother decided to keep in the end. They have since adopted and I couldn't be happier for them, if anybody deserved to be a mom and had lots of love to give to a child, it is her. :) Just so unfair sometimes.

What the hell is going on lately? It seems like for some people kids have become disposable. Very sad stuff! It's bad enough that people who are in no position to have kids become recklessly pregnant and then they kill the kid when it becomes too much of an inconvenience for their lifestyle.

I've never been a fan of the death penalty, but when it comes to adults taking kid's lives, fry em all.

Hold on, let me clarify:

First piss on her, then pour gasoline on her, then spread honey all over her and leave her in a forest densely populated by Grizzly Bears, then give her female circumcision, then decapitate her.

 Ok, no more sad news unless it relates somehow to somebody here on MR. :?

I just don't get it. What in the world goes on in the minds of people to make them want to do such things to children? Offered for sexual services? Murdered and just dumped by the side of the road? More than anything, I just feel pity for these people (and by "pity" I do NOT mean compassion or empathy). Pity for the "mother" who thought it would be a good idea to whore out her 5yr old child. Pity for the the father - whoever/where ever he is. Pity for the sick f@ck who was going to pay this scum-bag mother to have sex with her child. Whatever these people get from this point forward, they deserve. No excuses.

The shame of it all is, the only innocent in this matter, Shanayia, is the one who had to pay the ultimate price for these pitiful, sorry excuses for human beings. She was a beautiful little girl.

My daughter's the same age as this little girl. I would do anything to protect her. I can't believe this mother could pimp her little girl out to some pervert. This just makes me sick.

I like to believe that there's a special kind of hell set aside for those who prey on children. If there's any positive to this, maybe what happened to little Shaniya will help to expose the past deeds of those who did this to her, and maybe even save another child that's suffering. God rest her sweet little soul.

Public hangings and torturous executions may be the only deterrent for people like those. Not even sure that would work.

Shaq pays for N.C. girl's funeral

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4691565

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- Basketball star Shaquille O'Neal paid for the funeral of a 5-year-old North Carolina girl after being moved by national news coverage of the case of Shaniya Davis, who police say was kidnapped and killed.

The Cleveland Cavaliers player was touched by the stories he saw and got in touch with the family to see what he could do to help, a spokeswoman for O'Neal said Thursday.

More than 2,000 people attended the girl's funeral Sunday. Her body was found Nov. 16 beside a rural road.

Her mother, Antionette Davis, who had reported the child missing six days earlier, is charged with human trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution. Mario McNeill is charged with murder, rape and kidnapping in the case.

"I was sitting at home watching it on the news and the story brought a tear to my eye," O'Neal told The Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper.

Corey Breece, of Rogers and Breece Funeral Home, which handled the service, declined to tell the Fayetteville Observer newspaper how much it cost but added that a child's funeral "averages around $4,500."

A man who answered the phone at the funeral home Thursday told the AP that only the owner could comment and that he was away.

Shaniya Davis' father, Bradley Lockhart, and his family had set up a trust fund in memory of Shaniya to help raise money to pay for the funeral. Lockhart was not available to talk Thursday, said a man who answered the phone at his home.

O'Neal is recovering from a shoulder injury that has sidelined him for six straight games since getting hurt Nov. 12 against Miami.

What is going on? Lack of faith. Lack of human values. Lack of love. It goes on and on.

America has been going down hill for the past 30 or 40 years. Can't display the 10 commandments, people can't speak out against certain things without it being a hate crime. If you can't speak out against what is wrong, or teach your kids about Christ in public, but you talk about anything else....America's values are going down the toliet. Kids need two parents to help raise them. Male and female. Nothing against one parent homes, some of them can not help thier situation. My heart goes out to you, it is tough, real tough. But we need, as a country to start looking around us at all the wrong we are doing, and change it, yea there will still be things like this, but over the long run, hopefully it would be less.
