i hate lists like this .. Clapton is always on it .. ........Joey Ramone ? only
because the writer likes the Ramones.. i do too .. but top electric players
of all time?.. ugh..

Gary Moore would smoke all of them.. and Freddie King would smoke B.B...

Keith Richards is a nice addition if you dont add anything he has done since '89.. 8)

I love hwen they put some hack like Ramone on there and are like "HE MAY NOT HAVE HAD THE TECHNICAL SKILLS, BUT THE BRUTAL INTENSITY WITH WHICH HE ATTACKED SIX STRINGS MORE THAN MADE UP FOR HIS LACK OF POLISH."

Yeah, so some 10 year old kid playing power chords on an amp gained out on "11" who hits the strings just as hard is just as good, right?

If they were gonna list anyone that was good great the past ten years , it wouldn't be a top ten (11) list :P. It would be a top 4577 ;)

Hendrix deserves to be on the list , but I dunno about #1.
Yngwie should be in the top 5 . So should Gary Moore.
Clapton shouldn't even be considered for any list !!!

I don't think Drew was as much into Yngwie cause of Yngwies personality. Nevertheless , Yngwie is one of the best.

Sure he's gotten repetitive at times over the years and he's a huge d-bag, but in terms of starting a whole new way of playing guitar, he's up there with fuckin Hendrix and EVH.

Prince is a genius, but I'd rate him on his overal musical ability and songwriting rather than his guitar playing (which is amazing anyway). Yngie is a great shredder, but little else.

Neither should be above EVH, who revolutionized guitar playing in 1979 and influenced 2 decades of followers.

cool to see Yngwie in such a list.
Usually that kind of lists never has anyone in it that is actually on top of his game (say what you want, he is).

Drew is right about that tho....even mainstream media shouldnt miss out on EVH in such a list.
And Luke of course.

Yngwie is much more than a shredder Mr DrewBarrymore :P

he is an overall great guitar god with great vibrato and amazing skills whether he plays fast or slow. The guy needs to be credited for all that is known as neoclassical.
EVH invented tapping. Something that sooner or later wouldve been invented anyways. It's like Columbus getting credits for finding America. As if we wouldn't have found it without him,,, specially these days with GoogleEarth and GPS ;) :P
