RIP Pim Koopman and Frank Papendrecht (Diesel)

Postby MichaelRiesenbeck » Wed Nov 25, 2009 4:57 am

These guys are not very known outside the Dutch music scene, but:

What a sad period for the Dutch music scene and Diesel fans in particular. Monday was the cremation of bassplayer Frank Papendrecht and yesterday drummer Pim Koopman died of a heart attack. Bonham and Entwhistle will get competition up there.

Pim and Frank were members of the Dutch rock band Diesel (Sausolito Summernight). Pim was also known as producer of Robby Valentine and Valensia, and played in "The President".

RIP Frank and Pim

I'm really, really sad. I knew Pim a little and he was an amazing producer and drummer and a real kind person.

Diesel was a band that knew how to rock. Sausolito wasn't that heavy, but it was really a very rocking band if required.

This is very sad. Sausalito Summer Nights is one of my favourite summer songs. I'm giving it another blast in tribute.
