Was this one the best periods in Rock, ever? When 1980 began, The Wall by Pink Floyd was sitting at number #1, in the midst of a 15 week run at the top of charts and went on to become the best selling album of 1980. The next two years continuously got better musically for me from that point on.

Hi Infidelity (Best selling rock album of 1981)
Escape
Paradise Theater
Foreigner 4
Moving Pictures
Women And Children First
Back In Black
High 'n' Dry
Crimes Of Passion
Abacab
Don't Say No
Blizzard of Ozz
Modern Times
Heaven And Hell

So many great albums in such a short period of time

Which explains why '82 was such a dry spell giving Asia the chance to be the standout album of the year.

Asia was formed in 81 but by releasing their album in 82 and with the exposure on MTV, they had an open field to run in, until Michael Jackson's album came out near the end of the year.

83 was a different animal, with Frontiers, Pyromania and other great releases. Ultimately though they were even over shadowed a bit by Thriller, which was still going strong.

I was SO sick of REOs album by the end of that year.
I bought tickets for them in Seattle and they had to postpone their show until the end of the year.
By that time, I was so SO sick of that record that I walked out halfway through their show. I'd never done that before.
I still can't stand them.

Sorta OT, but I'll take Toto's Out of Love 10/10 over all of them. Luke's solo in that song is just
