Just got the cd last night. I really wasn't expecting a lot from the cd, but I must say, it is a LOT better what I thought!!!!! They put some REO feel to some of the songs, and make them fit their style. Some of the other songs are close to the orginal. Good Job....

For a gal that LOVES Steve Perry as much as you do, I'm surprised that you'd be into a band with the vocal quality of Kevin Cronin. That guy's voice is like nails on a blackboard to me. Decent songs, horrible lead singer.

Did you see REO on the "Christmas on Ice" thing or whatever it was? They (and sadly, Rick Springfield, who I missed), were playing in an Ice Arena while all these world-class skaters skated around them.

I couldn't believe Rock and Roll had come to such a state. What's next- Kevin Cronin as Aladin in Disney on Ice?

Not picking on you Portland, just can't believe you (of all peeps) could stand a voice like that. Blech.

Well I have other music tastes than just Steve Perry.......although he is my favorite as you well know....it's more about the music I grew up with and the memories......so I guess you will have to forgive my REO love!!!

and if you watched the skating do you say the same thing of Journeys miusic... because Seperate Ways was one of the songs in the program...
That is killer free media attention to be on TV like that... for REO... I say its a great thing for Rock to be recognized that way. Instead of the usual classical musical routines...

I ahve seen REO several times, have all but the first cd, and I can say I am a fan. Live, sometimes has been hit or miss. But wether Kevin was having a good night or band, they put on a good show.

Didn't see the whole thing. Might be media attention. Doesn't mean it's necessarily good. Skating to a song on record is much better than seeing a band stand there and play while skaters skate around them for a half hour. Speaking of ice, another VERY LOW POINT was a few years ago during the Winter Olympics when they wheeled Kiss out on a float. It was totally embarrassing to be an American during that 5-minutes. I'm sitting there thinking "Geez, this is the best America has to offer the world??"

I'll give you that, but his voice stinks. I've never EVER heard a more nasal, pushed singer in my life. Too each his own. Their songs are decent, just can't stand the voice.

Kevin use to have a very strong voice, but he blew it sometime ago. He use not to pace hisself in concert back in the heydays. HAve shows were he started out fine, singing with all his might, and by the end of the show he could hardly sing, but would still be going full throtle. Maybe that why he talks so much in his show now, to give his voice a little rest.
