Not the worst cover I've ever seen...
Seriously, if this doesn't make you smile, not sure what would.
Miss Piggy ftw at the end.

It's all good....I would rather have two of these threads....than the other depressing stuff that we seem

Cheetah's kids. Looks like Elin's genes really balanced out his mix race ones as black usually dominates.

I did a study of Labyrinth with my students this week. Showing them the difficulties of making a fantasy film in the 80's vs now with CGI animation. The sets were costly expensive, and I think somewhat better than CGI. It had more personal depth to it. But I let my students decide.
Jim Henson was such a sweet person. I was so saddened that he died of pnemonia and toxic shock syndrome. He had gone to a doctor, who dismissed it and gave him asprin.

We lost a creative artist over simple negligence. Sad.

The Muppets are hoping to challenge the X Factor winner for the Christmas number one after scoring an internet hit with their version of Bohemian Rhapsody.
The furry characters have been seen more than nine million times on YouTube with their rendition of the Queen hit.
Record label EMI said today that it was to release the song, which if successful would be the third time 'Bo Rhap' had topped the charts over the festive period. Bookies have given the single odds of 25/1 to hit the top spot.
However, the X Factor winner who will be crowned this weekend is still the overwhelming favourite to take the prized slot for the fifth year running.
9 Million views? Holy crap! BTW, GB, watched Celtic Woman on PBS a couple nights ago; they were outstanding; guess I'm going to have to shell out for the ticket when they come to Houston in April. Even if it is at the effin' Toyota Center -- big barn with shitty acoustics.

Yeah, the new show looks great. I'll try to see them again in the spring. The Gibson will be the third different venue they've played in Los Angeles. One of these days I would like to see them do Staples, just to get a full scale production from them. They keep playing smaller places here, which are great for acoustics but missing a little bit of the glamor you see on PBS. I'd like to see one big time show but then again, we would still be missing the castle and those Irish dells.

Seems like a nice kid, but no. 1 record? (judge's comment) - don't think so. Edit - just listened to Simon's comment - a song nobody knows??

They were probably thinking he was covering a Mariah Carey song.
(I think
Who's Crying Now and DSB were the only Journey songs to ever chart over their)

I can understand that of the others, but you'd think Simon would have heard it. Then again, maybe not - I seem to recall Randy J. making the odd Journey-related comment on Idol shows and Simon just kind of always dismissed it.

Does anyone know if Brian Henson, Jim Henson's son, is going to continue the muppets for his fathers legacy? He helped him with Labryinth, and so many things. He looks like a younger version of his dad. Very talented as well.

Brian Henson is co-CEO of The Jim Henson Company and an award-winning director, producer, writer and performer. In recent years, Henson served as Executive Producer on the television projects "It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie," "Muppet Wizard of Oz," "Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars" (which he also directed), "Jim Henson's Jack and the Beanstalk: The Real Story" (which he also cowrote and directed). He also directed “Battleground,” an Emmy Award-winning episode of the “Nightmares & Dreamscapes” anthology for TBS. Previous television projects that Henson produced include "Farscape," "Bear in the Big Blue House," "Gulliver's Travels," "The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss," "Muppets Tonight" and "Dinosaurs." Henson's long list of film credits includes "The Great Muppet Caper," "Labyrinth," "The Witches," "Little Shop of Horrors," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," "The Muppet Christmas Carol" and "Muppet Treasure Island." Henson has announced the development of “Farscape” webisodes, a 10-part webisode series, and an upcoming feature “Happytime Murders” based on the story by Todd Berger and Dee Robertson.
Henson also oversees the groundbreaking work at Jim Henson's Creature Shop, one of Hollywood's preeminent character building, digital and physical visual effects facilities. Henson was part of the team that first created and utilized the Henson Performance Control System, a powerful custom-based interface for puppeteers, which won an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science Scientific and Engineering Award in 1992. Recently, he has been leading the Shop's work with its revolutionary digital puppeteering technology, the Henson Digital Puppetry Studio, and has served as director for "The Skrumps," the Company’s newest troupe of animated characters brought to life using digital puppetry and seen exclusively at Yahoo! Kids. Henson also is the Executive Producer of "Sid the Science Kid," which uses the Henson Digital Puppetry Studio for a new science-readiness pre-school series, debuting on PBS this Fall.
Henson created and launched the Company's new live stage show "Puppet Up! - Uncensored" which has toured to Aspen, Las Vegas, Edinburgh, Sydney and Melbourne and is currently appearing monthly at Avalon Hollywood.
