Well, from a world events standpoint, definitely, good riddance. Hopefully better things await.

From a personal standpoint, I dunno. It's been a strange up and down year for me - some highs, some lows, some weird stuff.

One thing's for sure: It's been a busy one. I can't believe we are just a few weeks away from a brand new year (which I will be enjoying in New Orleans).

Yeah; I hear ya......for me, the "last straw", as it were, is this whole Tiger Woods bullshit.... :x

+1......too much to go through in detail......

2009 wasn't the best. First half was pretty good. Went a little bit downhill.
But 2009 is an odd number. I prefer even numbers. 2008 was good. So I think 2010 will be good too.

hoping to move to northern california in 2010 and make buying a house a reality. teachers in my school district are looking at a 12% pay cut and 4 furlough days, making the cut 14.3%. i'm not about to take the abuse and put forth the energy for a paycheck that won't pay the bills. 2009 was not a bad year for me and i'm hoping for a better 2010.

2009 sucked major ass for me personally, thats for sure. Unfortunately 2010 doesnt look to be much better right now. But I truly believe a person can make their own path dark or bright. Mine may start dark but before I get to the midway point I will find sunshine.

I'll be happy to draw a close on this year; it hasn't been one of the best. But despite all the unhappy things that have happened this year, I've made some truly great friends and been given some wonderful opportunities that will come to fruition in 2010.
Christmas I'm dreading, I have to admit. :(

You did have a crappy year darlin' and I hope you find your sunshine very early in 2010!

For me 2009 was a "hurry up and get it over with" kind of year.....2010 will be a great year-lots of possibilities, I have no idea where I'll end up by the end of 2010 and that's kind of exciting!!!! (Somewhere with warmer weather sounds great about now!)

Financially and professionally one of the worst yet for me. Where's a great graphic of someone punting Father time off a building or something? Insert that here!

Professionally, 2009 was decent. I mean, hell, I have a job so right there, it's a win. :?

I need for 2010 to be better all the way around. I and trying to plan to start the year off in fun way - with a trip!! I don't get to travel much at all and I LOVE to travel, so 2010 is hopefully gonna start with a trip to a city & state I love and haven't seen in over 7 years.

You'll make it happen. My goal is to get to either Hawaii or Ireland for my 50th in July. Which means I have to plot & plan now to do it.
If you want something bad enough, you make it happen. 8)

2009 was a great year. Got my license as a personal trainer, and just have 7  more years to go before I finish my phd. there's not a lot of things that beats teaching a cougar how to do squats properly in tight workout sweats.

Would have liked for Perry to get out of litter box, but that's just being delusional.

Merry christmas!

I would say it's been a very crappy year, except so far, even though I have several eldery aunts and uncles who are near and dear to us, no one has died in my family. Everyone, young and old, is healthy, which when you break it down is everything. And the George Clooney movie Up In The Air is coming out soon. So, relatively speaking, I can't complain. 8)

I'm in the Civil/Structural department of the engineering company that I work for. Our department has been very low on work and I've been working 30-hour weeks for about 4 months now. The Piping department recently got a big project and they asked me & another guy to help out. So for the past few weeks I've been working 60-hour weeks drawing piping drawings. They've been hinting that we might be going to 70-hour weeks soon. Since I've never been late with paying any bills, I consider 2009 not too bad of a year. I do hope, however, that 2010 will be much better. My girlfriend is moving into my house in February so that will be a cool start to the year.

Well, I've just been given the official go-ahead to work as many hours as I want as long as I have work. So I've bumped my schedule up to 66 hours a week. 11 hours a day, 6 days a week with Sundays off.
