Stun Guns

Anyone know whether a stun gun will stop an attacking dog...or just piss the dog off?

I was walking to the store a few days ago and two dogs came after me...one on each side so it was hard to put my cart between them and me. I love animals and don't want to hurt/kill a dog; however, I don't want to get bitten either.

A woman and her poodle were killed by a dog in my region recently. That dog was probably safe with it's family, but the woman probably got in it's way while the dog was after the poodle.

I don't know, but I think postal workers carry pepper spray to fend off aggressive dogs.

The rest of the story is that the owner probably had her door open talking to some guy and the dogs ran outside. She came running out in her jammies telling me that the dogs "wouldn't hurt me". Both dogs were sturdy (not chihuahuas) and acted like they wanted to hurt me...probably 'cause I live with a cat! Dogs usually like me but they are territorial. Now I've run into packs of dogs numbering five or six and they didn't worry me...one of these dogs really worried me. :?

The rest of the story about the lady and her poodle was that a pit bull got loose and killed a woman (in her 80's I think) and the poodle. :(
