Love both bands, but it was these two headliners who broke the $100 base ticket price barrier on their respective 1994 tours, forever opening the concert industry's insatiable floodgates of greed.
Bastards...
Best be prepared to take out a second mortgage if you hope to score ducats for THIS one:

I love both bands, but honestly, The Eagles need to stop. They are 100% there for the money, hate each other's guts and it just ain't fun to see them for that price. They still sound good, but it's no fun... Henley and Frey want to kill each other, it's so obvious.

I could fall asleep just THINKING about that concert!

I am a fan of the Eagles, but I think that combo would be a MAJOR snorefest!

Stadium shows sound pretty ambitious for these two bands, I wonder if they will mix and match different size venues like Journey did in 83?

Last I heard Henley and Frey were getting along good. What makes you say different?

lol, who told you that?
I know the James Gang (Joe Walsh's first band) drummer very well personally and believe me, they still don't care for each other one bit.

There was no need to. They could play stadiums on their own and did.
Rumours and
Hotel California were out about that time and they are amongst the greatest albums ever.

You are completely fucked in the head. Two legendary bands and you call this a snorefest? I can't figure you out. I could have a better chance at curing AIDS than converting you to good music.

Gimme a weekend with Jim and my 300 gigs of tunes, I'll open his musical horizons. I gotta say Jim, you do surprise me sometimes with your seemingly limited tastes, considering what a great musician you are.

Real classic rock to open that fucks' eyes and ears! I am serious, let's plan a guy weekend at your pad Matt. I'll have that sorry sonofabitch humming

JAMES GANG WOULD be way more fun than an eagles concert... and Fleetwood Mac if they brought back Christie... it would be worth to shell out 200.00 otherwise..
I dont think they are as good with out her... Eagles music though is still pretty dang good...
Here is some jammin... from the james gang...

Eagles need to bring back Don Felder. The replacement guitarist they got for him is good...but...too "mechanical". No soul!
Felder was GREAT!

You're underestimating Stevie Nicks' ability to put you in a complete trance. And Fleetwood Mac as a whole - that band is tight.

Deano, I gotta go with Jim on this one. This woulda been the shit back in the 70's, when these bands had some edge left in em. But now? Snoozefest.

The crowd sing alongs, alone during Eagles shows are a sight to behold. 16,000 or 80,000 people singing along every word. Not a sleepy eye in the house. Joe Walsh Rocks Life's been good to me, and Rocky Mountain Way, Walk Away and others, and then there is Henleys songs, alternated with Frey songs, One of These Nights, New Kid in Town, Take it to the Limit, Desperado, Already Gone, Take it Easy.......hit after hit after hit.
With the Mac opening up with their hit after hit, the only drawback to this show is the price. It's worth it if ya can afford it. I'll consider it if they come to Cincy for sure.
Seen Mac recently and I have to respectfully disagree. Yes, it's a night of hits, but it ain't a compelling show in either case. I love Lindsey Buckingham, and it's almost worth the price of admission to see him do his thing, but Stevie simply sounds like shit these days. And they REALLY miss Christine McVie's voice and presence.
Haven't seen the EAGLES other than on DVD, but what I saw (a couple of Walsh tunes excepted) had no teeth whatsoever.
But, you say potato...

I've seen both in the last couple of years, Fleetwood Mac just a few months ago and I would not call either a snoozer. Buckingham WAS the show, but well worth the price of admission He is phenominal. I agree they miss McVie and Stevie could hardly walk on stage, looked bloated and had too much pancake make up on. I would see them again in a heartbeat though.
The Eagles show was one of the best concerts I have seen...ever. They played for over three hours. My wife was pissed that I spent so much on good seats (5th row right in front of Walsh), but at intermission she admitted I did good. After the show she said it was her favorite concert and she was never an Eagles fan. Traveling to the show she was afraid she wouldn't know very many songs and after the show she declared she new everyone...which was obvious as she sang along.
The downside is I have grown too spoiled with great seats in arenas to attend a stadium concert. It's too big and the stage is always too high if you do have good seats (on floor/field). I probably wouldn't go for that reason as well as I don't like dishing out big bucks only to sweat the weather forecast for the 10 days leading up the the event. Keep it inside.

Did you even READ the above post??? I have no problem with the "music". But a live concert is about more than the music being played. It's about the passion, fire and virtuosity with which said music IS being played. If I just want to hear the "music" I'll save myself 500 bucks and put on the records - you know, those things they recorded BEFORE they got fat, old, boated and lost most of their performing ability. (Lindsay Buckingham excepted!)

I've seen them both within the last 18 months, and I thought both shows were excellent.
The Eagles, particularly, had a very slick, tight show ... MAJOR production with all sorts of backing musicians, lighting, videos; they played most of their hits plus a goodly number of hits various members had as solo artists. I remember thinking that Journey's shows sort of looked like a garage band in comparison.
Fleetwood Mac also put on a major production, and hearing Lindsey tear things up was worth the price of the ticket by itself.
BUT, both shows were almost too, too. I LIKE warty, funky, barely scripted live shows, and I loathe giant arenas.
Guess it will depend on ticket prices and what else is going on around the time they come through town.

Yeah, I just don't get it-
Stevie Nicks entire stage persona consists of her playing with her dress and twirling it back and forth. That's it. Her voice comes off a lot lower than the records. I've seen them and they were boring as hell. Lindsey, great player, but them and the Eagles to me are bands you listen to and there's no reason to go see them. They don't put on any kind of a "show" at all and just aren't exciting to watch. Barely talk to the audience, etc.
Sorry.

Yeah, saw FM. It was completely dull. Well played for sure- though Stevie ducked a lot of notes, but just boring. The Eagles- when I've seen their concert DVDs, they just kind of sit there. GREAT singers. GREAT players but just.... yawn. Sorry. New Kid in Town blows. Gimme ANY Henley song over a Glen Frye song any day of the week.
I did see Joe Walsh with Ringo's All Starr thing. He was funny and a great player. The Eagles, I'd give a chance. FM- been there, done that and they were so dull...
