if a 6.5 struck here on the hayward fault, there would probably be some death & destruction. fortunately, this one was way north, off-shore. i'm assuming there's at least minor damage in ferndale & eureka. not sure who's fault this was.

My husband is from Ventura CA. We argue wich is worse............tornados or earthquakes. I say earthquakes.......their is no warning for an earthquake, there are no shelters to hide in. You are where you are and you pray nothing falls on you.

Having grown up in the Midwest with tornados and then experiencing (living just a few miles from the epicenter) the Northridge quake in '94 (6.7 magnitude that killed many people) - for me, I'd say that earthquakes are worse...no warning, no idea how bad it will be, and there is no season for them. But, then again earthquakes can happen anywhere - even in the Midwest (Missouri had severe ones).

Don't blame George... He only had a weather machine (which he used to make Katrina because he hates black people). He wasn't there long enough to get the earthquake machine. You know what I think it was? Chuck Norris doing push-ups! :D

i think it's good that the earth around the bay area is taking incremental steps. i'd rather have a whole bunch of quakes under 4.5 than one over 6.0!

The Gay area is potentially pretty volatile.

I'm telling you, it was just Chuck Norris doing push-ups! Nothing to worry about at all.

You're right. Arizona becomes the largest shipping port area on the west coast.
