This will be my 5th year in a row attending the Detroit Auto show. The press week just finished and the show is open to public starting tomorrow.
The 2012 Focus made some heads turn as it is a World car from Ford with same design in US and Europe for the first time. Plus it's full of gadgets including MyFord which is gonna have an onboard wifi to let you tweet while you drive (using voice commands) and many more neat features.

kbb.com's 2010 Detroit Auto Show Top 10 List

1. 2012 Ford Focus
2. GMC Granite Concept
3. Volkswagen New Compact Coupe Concept
4. 2011 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe
5. Chevy Aveo RS Concept
6. 2011 Honda CR-Z
7. Cadillac XTS Platinum Concept

As I was JUST about to post in the facebook thread... people are WAYYYYY to connected to everything these days. We need to voice tweet while we drive now? You know what I look for in a car? That is runs well, that it gets decent mileage, that the air and heat work and that I can play CDs. I'll even take one with one of those iPod plugs.

But "on board twitter access"? Jesus tapdancing, are you fricking kidding me?

The both of youse guys are invited to fuck off. Feel free to team up on that. Image

B, I'm a fan of technology, and once I get a new phone, I'll use the facebook apps and the twitter apps and upload photos and all that wonderful fun stuff. But voice-commanded on board twitter? Seriously?

What happens when you start cursing out other drivers and your car tweets it? 50 of your friends see a tweet that said "You stupid son of a bitch asshole!!" or what??

You can actually be in charge of WHEN and WHAT to tweet, grannypants. No worries, I made sure this feature is removed from your next vehicle. Feel free to team up with the horsies :D

Nah, she's got a point. Gadgets and technology are one thing but nobody needs twitter access attach to their vehicle, you shouldn't be twittering while your driving anyway. Nothing pisses me off more when I see somebody on their cell phone while driving, don't even get me started on texting while you're driving, f*ckin' murderers!

My point is NOT about texting/tweeting while driving.

My point is why the hell do people need built in voice operated twitter? Are we so damn self-absorbed that we feel that all our friends need our commentary the instant we think of something? Grabbing your phone and typing it out two minutes after you think of it is no longer effecient enough? It needs to come right out of our face and go straight to twitter ? And it can't wait until we get home or to the office? We NEED this in our CARS?
