Postby rockinfayrose » Tue Jan 19, 2010 2:46 pm

One of the World's Biggest Rock Bands and Current GRAMMY® Nominee to Make Debut Performance on the GRAMMY Awards and to Offer Fans the Opportunity to help Select Which of Their Hit Songs They Will Perform on Music's Biggest Night® Live on CBS Jan. 31

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (Jan. 12, 2010) — For the first time ever, current GRAMMY® Award nominee Bon Jovi will perform on the GRAMMY telecast and participate in a special interactive fan vote on the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards. As part of the band's performance, fans will have an opportunity to decide which Bon Jovi hit the band will perform during their segment. The music industry's premier event will take place live on Sunday, Jan. 31, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on the CBS Television Network from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). The show also will be supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide, and covered online at GRAMMY.com and CBS.com, and on YouTube at (http://www.facebook.com/thegrammys).

Beginning this week, viewers can log on to www.cbs.com/grammys and vote for one out of six of their favorite hit Bon Jovi songs:

"Always"
"Bed Of Roses"
"Have A Nice Day"
"It's My Life"
"Livin' On A Prayer"
"Wanted Dead Or Alive."

There is no registration to vote, and fans may vote as often as they wish. Additionally, a 30-second clip of each song may be viewed. The deadline to vote is Sunday, Jan. 24, 11:59 p.m. ET. On Jan. 25 the list will be narrowed down to the top three songs and fans may continue voting at www.cbs.com/grammys for which hit song the band should perform as part of their segment. Voting will continue until Bon Jovi's performance on the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards on Jan. 31.

What a lame (and dreadfully predictable) list! They should've done what Metallica did a few years back and just opened it up to their whole catalogue.
Now HERE'S a list of five cool JBJ songs to pick from:

The Hardest Part is the Night
Lay Your Hands on Me
She Don't Know Me
Bang a Drum
Let it Rock!

Pick between THOSE five, hotshots!

Yeah, I agree. The ones they picked are all the songs we here over and over when they have a live performance. I'd say:

Lay your hands on me
She don't know me
Let it rock
Runaway (that is actually my favorite BJ song)
Living in Sin

But since I HAVE to pick from that list, I think I'd pick Bed of Roses. Because they way over do "wanted dead or alive" , "it's my life" and "livin on a prayer" and that's all you ever hear when they have a performance such as this.

Looove that song, one of my faves. Quickly became a fan after seeing that one performed on American Bandstand. Great list!

Tokyo Road, or if that's too obscure, Bad Medicine.

For this list, I picked Always as everything else has been done to death, it seems.

These are good choices!

Bon Jovi is the "Play it Safe" band. Geez, how many times can they roll out DOA??? Please not again.
And yeah Stevew2- Thin for sure.
NO. He's NOT Steve F'ing Perry. But he's Arnel F'ing Pineda and I'm okay with that.

Ditto to both sentences. They used to pull obscure ones, I've seen Get Ready on a few older boots......that's a great one live.

Nobody said Journey were maveriks, but Bon Jovi is much more cautious.
They should do It's My Life. That was a good song for them.

I have to agree that the last few years the Grammys have really sucked, but I think this year will be more like "old times" with some quality artists being recognized - as long as Taylor Swift doesn't clean-up all the awards again
