I got a message recently from a former boyfriend. what is the correct procedure for this? weirdness!! I haven't answered it.

he is the bass player from my first band. AND I found our guitar player in his friends. weirdness. don't really wanna be friends with either but I have always wanted to have a copy of that album we started.

discuss. and cue the Moody Blues.

accept the request - get the album - delete the friend. simple.

Or you could just custom set your profile so that person is blocked from whatever you don't want them on (a co-worker told me about that).

I say, get what you want (the album) then end it. Doesn't sound like you owe him anything.

I love the Moody Blues - that video is so 60's. I haven't heard it in a long time.

On Facebook (or MySpace too) you can almost send, receive and answer messages without actually offering or accepting a friend request, so I'd suggest that rather than add someone then delete them once the business end has been done. Getting a friend request from someone you don't really want to keep a constant connection with almost always feels like a lose-lose situation. Ignoring a request seems less damaging to their fragile psyches than deleting them... lol!

I personally think the whole "friends list" concept on social networking sites has had a really unfortunate downside in so many ways, so I take a really detached approach to it.

Really cool to reconnect with those past accomplishments though, and hope you get your songs! That sounds really cool.
