Anyone here double jointed?

I talked about a fall I had Saturday in my Snow thread, and described how I fell in a T or W possition. Now I don't think what I can do is necessarily double jointed.......but I can rotate both of my legs in at the hip and bend my knees where they are lying on their sides and touch my toes together facing each other.

Image

My son can sit in a W pattern, but not touch his toes. My father used to be able to sit this way. When my children were small, I was told to discourage it. But to this day I can still do that. But falling into that possition hurts!

Any of you have any strange things you can do like this?

I have something I can bend in many different directions, but I don't feel comfortable discussing it here! :D On a serious note, I can lock all of my fingers in a straight position while bending the last knuckle straight down on all of them. It's kinda hard to explain, so I hope you got what I was trying to explain.

I can also roll my tongue!

Jim, are you making fun of me b/c I just mentioned that same stuff about myself in another thread today?

If so, you forgot the abdomen roll, the feet behind the head & the other "special talent" that shall remain nameless. Pffttt. :x

When I was younger I could bend over backwards and put my hands flat on the ground, lie on my stomach and put the soles of my feet on the back of my head without lifting my shoulders more than an inch or so off the floor, do the splits in both directions and tuck both ankles behind my head. As I've gotten older, I haven't maintained that level of flexibility, which I regret. I decided a year ago to work at getting it back, and I'm slowly improving. I can once more bend over backwards and touch the floor, but not palms flat and I have to grab something to stand up again, and I'm almost at the point where I can sit cross-legged and sit on my ankles.

The first joint in my fingers (the one closest to the nail) MIGHT be double jointed, I'm not sure. It's not that neat of a trick, but I think I can bend that first part of my finger much more severely than others. Great for hitting the G-Spot

I can't believe this topic has arrived on MR.com.

I have double jointed fingers. I too can bend the top of my fingers at the top joint (except my pinkies). My pinkies are perfectly normal. Weird.

I can also bend my pointer fingers all the way back, touching the top of my forearm. They can also come out of joint and point sideways. Pretty gross. Two of my kids fingers are the same, as are my Mom's so I guess it is hereditary.

I took shit from friends my entire life for this oddity and the fact my fingers are "crooked" when fully extended. As I grew older, I just said I can reach and work "spots" that most men can't with normal fingers, which has made me quite popular with the women. (Unfortunately...I am just kidding about the last part  ...even though my wife doesn't seem to complain.)

Oh well.

Just sore but doing fine! I was glad if I had to fall it was at the base of the stairs and not the top!

Thanks for those brave enough to talk about their odd abilities. I guess the fall made me wonder if any others on here had some strange abilities like this.

MG can you touch your toes in the front?

As for Ari, that is a feet!

I can roll my tongue too. And tie cherry stems...........

Yeah, but I can still do a backhandspring too, you/we just
can't let yourself/ourselves get stiff as you/we age. I did
fall on my face not too long ago as well!!!
