so, this is a neat little story...my little 6 yr. old girl tells me she has a boyfriend and she wrote him the cutest love letter last week...well, I got to know the little boy's mom, who I find pretty cool, and I find out her husband is a musician, was a band member of the group, YES, his name is Billy Sherwood. She gave me his myspaces and told me he just released a new solo CD, is in a band CIRCA with other former members of YES, and formed another band called, YOSO, with former TOTO singer Bobby Kimball.
Anyway, thought I'd share the links for anyone interested. Also, funny that as I was telling her about my fave band, Journey she told me that she once babysat for a Journey band member but didn't know it until afterwards 'cuz she only met the mother and now she can't remember his name! So, whichever one lived in North Hollywood that's who it was. She knew it wasn't Steve Perry (she did ask me what he was up to).

YOSO is the newest upcoming band project of Billy's. With Tony Kaye and
Jimmy Haun, Bobby Kimball (TOTO) on vocals, and Jody Cortez on drums.

Headsets is a project Billy did with a DJ named Jim Ladd from KLOS 95.5.
He was also the voice of the DJ in Roger Waters' (of Pink Floyd) solo cd

from Billy and spoken word by Jim Ladd. There's also a cameo voice
appearance by E. in both.

Very cool. Love Yes. I know Trevor Rabin is a big time Hollywood guy, having done a lot of film scores. Didn't know there where other ex-members living in SoCal.

That's the Trevor Rabin era, where they got popular in the mainstream. Even the R&B stations were playing Owner Of A Lonely Heart, it was that popular. I think that's their only number one hit.

That's probably why I couldn't think of any other songs...I have to go back and find some more as I think they were more well-known when I was a kid in the 60s-70s.

Only Rabin, Kaye and Sherwood. Jon Anderson lives in SLO and Alan White lives up in Seattle. I think Chris Squire also lives in SLO or owns a place there.

Trevor Rabin's "Promises" is in the kid's movie Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs which is recent. That was a neat surprise when we watched it with our kids, lol. Love his music in movies.

We saw "Cloudy with a chance of meatballs" when it came out - my daughter loved it.
I didn't realize there was a Toto forum here until I checked after I posted here...oh, well. Billy's wife gave me all his CDs today to listen to...there's even a Journey Tribute CD he produced with all these '80s singers each doing a song. You guys probably already knew about this, too. Has Mickey Thomas (Starship), Kip Winger, Tommy Shaw (Styx), Kelly Hansen (Foreigner)...apparently he produces other tribute CDs.
