Also read that Myles Kennedy, formerly of Alter Bridge, is working on
a solo album, not to mention Ozzy's new album with his new guitar player,
Gus G.

That ought to sell at least 20 copies in California alone! What a waste of fucking dollars this is going to be. Is Vincy going to launch a major tour across America playing High school parking lots? Come on Now RedJoan, be serious.

He would outsell Punxatawney Steve, guaranteed.

Who do you work for and do they have drug testing? You have officially became the stupidest son of a bitch in America. Vince Neil outsell Steve Perry? Dude, I am laughing so hard, my asshole feels like it's going to burst. This is funnier than when you once told me Journey would outsell Springsteen. Remember that gem?

Look, Mini Lee.
Neither would sell a ton because both would be outside the bands that made them famous. perry, I guess, has slightly more relevance as a solo artist, actually having 2 solo hits. But that minor edge is cancelled out by the fact that Vince has never stopped working be it w/ Motley or solo so he has more recognition and as such would sell more.
But you loons and heads act like nosehead, as a solo artist, is Elvis and that's just not the case.
It's a moot debate anyway because even IF he was going to come out with an album it was with the condition that he'd only go through with it if he thought he could crush Revelation's sales and that is an impossibility. Once Revelation got to the 100,000 units sold point, the off chance of a new nostrilface album circled the drain.
The Bruce thing, I guess you just made up no point even addressing it.

Just picked up the Sade album the other day, and it is excellent.

Dude, enough of the Revelation fuzzy math sales already. That thing sold what, 500,000 units maybe, and that was mainly because of the Pineda sob story, the Pinoy nation, and the cracker jack box price of 8 bucks for three discs. If Perry puts out a record, no doubt he will get on radio, as his voice is accustomed to radio. He will outsell Revelations easily. It's not a question of whether he will outsell Journey, because he most certainly will, but a question if he will turn something out or not.

500k, 800k (which the last official count said it was over), it doesn't matter the point is once it got to triple digits the "next" perry solo album went the way of Against The Wall, this time because of his unwillingness to be crushed at the cash registers by the band. I cannot believe you're benighted enough to think he will top Rev's possible 1 million units when For The Need To Supplement Singing With Breathing Noises And Diaphragmnal Utterings stalled at Gold back when Albums actually SOLD.
I put the over/under at the next perry album, which won't come, at 85k.

It was weird, I saw a commercial for her the other day and she hasn't changed at all look wise. I swear she had the same hair, same earings, and same clothes as the last time I saw her.
Committed to the image.

I am not huge on Rev and Pineda, I think you know that, but do you really think in this era of Sopranos and Glee that Steve Perry has more brand name recognition than Journey? Sure, they can tack "THE ALL-NEW ALBUM FROM THE ORIGINAL LEAD SINGER OF JOURNEY" on the front, but is that the same? To me, it's not.
Why do you think Perry would be any different from any other of his contemporaries ? I agree, his voice is accustomed to radio, but why would it be different for him? They'll spin the new song for a few weeks at most, maybe a summer if he's lucky, then go back to playing Oh Sherie and Foolish Heart if they play solo stuff at all (rather than Journey).
All in all, I'd love to hear a new album from the guy, but I think he'd be lucky to do as Rev did, no matter what kind of voodoo sales math you want to use.

The only reason Journey is semi relevant right now at this very moment, is because of DSB, the Perry version. You don't hear the Pineda version anywhere. You hear Steve Perry singing the song. If asked on the street, people could sure as Hell name Steve Perry more than any of the other guys in the band combined. I do believe music fans know who Steve Perry is and trust me if he does put something out, it will be properly marketed and it will sell. It will sell despite a Wal Mart deal, a DVD mixed in and a throw away re record like the band had to do. It will sell in spite of Pinoy nation. You know those fuckers won't touch anything with Perry's name on it. They aren't the brightest music fans in the world, and they definitely don't know jack shit regarding Journey history. All they know is Pineda-current.Why do you think Perry would be any different from any other of his contemporaries ? I agree, his voice is accustomed to radio, but why would it be different for him? Any different? Look, vocal icons can take years and years off and people know who they are and snatch their shit up. Neil Diamond, Barry Manilow and Barbra Streisand come immediately to mind. I would put Steve Perry in the class of people knowing him and buying his CD if they see it on the shelf based on name recognition alone. They aren't going to care if it says Journey on the label or not.All in all, I'd love to hear a new album from the guy, but I think he'd be lucky to do as Rev did, no matter what kind of voodoo sales math you want to use.
Like I said, Perry will outsell Revelation without the need for Pinoy Nation, sob stories or cheap Wal Mart deals. And he won't throw four discs in there in order to get a cheap "platinum" album out of it. That is just horseshit from a horseshit organization.
