Anybody been following this story since it unfolded? Definitely one of the weirder stories I've ever seen. Just goes to show you what kind of nutjobs we have plaguing our academia today, at any rate.

A family source said Bishop, a mother of four children - the youngest a third-grade boy - was a far-left political extremist who was “obsessed” with President Obama to the point of being off-putting

Oh, and yes, far-right political extremists are more than capable of violence and being crazy. I'm merely highlighting the fact that the far-left variety nutjobs are by and large the ones plaguing academia.

Yeah, she killed her brother and was given a pass. She sent a pipebomb in the mail and no charges were filed. Twice all the clues were there that this woman is a nutjob and it took something like this to finally get her off the streets. :roll:

It really is unbelievable isn't it? Especially since they are now saying her interrogation regarding the pipe bomb was downright bizarre, including her grinning when being asked about the details of the perpetrator's stamping the envelope and what not.

“She was quite cavalier about it,” Fluckiger said of Bishop’s description of her interview with police. She said Bishop “grinned” as she described being asked by cops whether she’d ever taken stamps off an envelope and fastened them onto something else. “I cannot tell you what the grin meant,” Fluckiger said.

Well, aside from her modified Lloyd Christmas Dumb and Dumber haircut, which should have been a HUGE alarm bell to observers, you can definitely tell she's a fuckin whacko.

Yet another revelation... she was involved in an altercation at an IHOP in 2002 over a booster seat. She struck a mother of two on the side of her head in front of her own children as she left the restaurant.

"Soon after another family with the defendant Amy Bishop was seated in a booth nearby," the report said. Gjika "then asked the waitress for a booster seat for one of the children and the waitress brought one over. The defendant Amy Bishop then also asked the waitress for a booster seat but Amy was told by the waitress that there were no more booster seats.

The defendant ... then became angry that [Gjika] had the last booster seat and made the comment, 'But we were here first,' " the report said

She then became loud and abusive to the woman, the report said, shouting profanity at her and at one point saying, "I am Dr. Amy Bishop."

Bishop was asked to stop using profanity, but continued to verbally abuse the woman, becoming so loud that she was heard throughout the restaurant, police said.

The IHOP manager told police that Bishop was acting "like a crazy person."

The manager asked Bishop to leave, and Bishop struck the other woman on the right side of her head in front of the woman's two children, the report said. After she left the restaurant, the manager wrote down the license plate number of her red 1988 Ford Taurus.
