Slowly he's getting a little more of his range back.
He's still nowehere close to being up for the job of Foreigner.
His deeper post-op voice sounds better when covering solo stuff like "Midnight Blue".
It's really remarkable how drastically different his voice is now.
This performance of "Just Between You and Me" almost sounds like its being sung by Michael Mcdonald.
Not great, but not horrible. He's def. getting better tho.

wow, he's coming along. Last time I saw him was opening for Journey. Felt really sorry for him at that time. It's nice to see him doing much better.

Just goes to show how ballsless Perry is - it's just like an athlete coming off a long injury. The voice is a muscle you build up through use and through practice. If the guy had the balls to swallow his pride, do a few subpar shows and a lot of practice, he could undoubtedly come back and tour. I mean come on, Gramm almost fuckin died from his condition!

I'm toast. I really am toast.

I just wonder if Lou kicked his medications cold, would he get his old range back?
Not seriously suggesting he do that by ANY STRETCH, but if that’s so, must be pretty frustrating to know that a handful of pills make all the difference between sounding like Joe Cocker and sounding like vintage Lou.

"Loune" - like it! Good one!

Oh, and BTW - The National Anthem is THE MOST DIFFICULT SONG TO SING - due to the interval jumps.
If you don't know your range / strength, you are SCREWED

And the fact that Lou nailed it A CAPELLA - AND recovering????

HE NAILED IT!!! SO HAPPY for him!!! \~/

Take off the blinders.
Lou’s a hero, and I even posted this clip in another forum weeks ago because he’s sounding better.
But most of the footage out there is not this good.
These days he sounds like a smoky bar singer tackling material waay out of his league.
That's all I'm saying.

I'm stunned ... that was fucking great! If he can improve in the next year or so as much as he has in the last year or so ... look the fuck out! I'd say he's about 60% of what he used to be ... as opposed to to about the 40% he was 2 years ago. You just have to fucking love this guy's persistence. What a fighter. 8)

Here's footage from a DVD that was shot last month.
Again, not bad, not bad.
Helluva lot better than the Foreigner All Access Tonight dvd that should have never seen the light of day.

Very solid efforts on both tunes. I see good things in Gramm's future as he keeps getting stronger. The will is there.

Especially loved IWKWLI, but a great job on both songs. Love the arrangement on CAI.

Gramm is my favorite singer bar none. He's got a soulfulness to his voice that a lot of rock singers don't have, even with his diminished abilities over the last decade.

That national anthem is the closest I've heard him get to his pre-op voice.

What an unvain guy, too, about his voice always kept working even through the lowest points.

Thank you JeremyP ! He has so improved. I think he said a few years back that he would have to take steroids for the rest of his life. That is where his weight is coming from and perhaps the part of the brain that the tumor was pressing on controls hunger . I know my daughter has problems since brain surgery. Her doctor gives her a med that controls appetite.
