Must suck to live in Ohio, as 4 cities were listed in the top 20.

I love the pics they used for each city. They are all winter, dreary horrible pics that would make any city look miserable

As always, it's fashionable to make fun of Cleveland. We have our severe problems, but to put us ahead of fucking Detroit, Youngstown, Gary, IN and Flint just to name a few? lol. Wonder what elitist East Coast scumbag made this list.

Oh, btw, the average hard-working Clevelander is plenty happy here. The tie that binds many of these so-called "miserable" cities: The infestation of lazy scumbag sycophants who have been tirelessly and mindlessly voting corrupt Democrats and Union bosses into office for decades who raid the city coffers, steal from the citizens, and make false promises of supporting the lazy sycophant fucks who don't want to work. Those sycophants are the miserable people because they get lulled into voting these corrupt crooks into office thinking it'll support their lazy, directionless lifestyles. I'd presume it's much the same for many of these other cities with a history of corrupt, ineffectual Democratic rule.

You oughta see the RAMPANT corruption that is running Cuyahoga County (Cleveland's county) into the fucking ground here... from the County Auditor to the City Prosecutor to Trial Judges to the County Commissioners to the Contractors... hell, even the goddamn Clerk of Courts was gaming the system... he worked 84 days in 2008  Check this article out

Hey, is Cleveland like Pittsburgh in the fact that it is blue collar pull oneself up by the bootstrap Springsteen song kind of folk? I am being serious here. I have been to Pittsburgh and love the vibe there. Rolled through Cleveland on the Lake Shore limited and from the train, the area seemed somewhat depressed, yet I saw a major rebuilding going on. True story: I was 21 years old and on a USA Rail pass. Coast to coast for 199 bucks. I met a Rochester girl en route from NYC to Chicago and got lucky. I knew the extra price I paid for a sleeping car would pay off. :D Anyway, I received a blow job worthy of a gold medal while viewing Cleveland in the early morning. Just thought you all would like to know that historical tidbit. Bought a 12ver in Rochester during a servicing stop...liquor store across the street from the station. I was sprinting back, dodging cars and trucks and barely made it back on board, with seconds to spare or I would have been stranded in Rockfuckingchester, NY. . The girl, Lisa, was amused watching from the lounge car. I met up with her, laughed about my retarded running, had dinner and started boozing. I was on fire that night. Fucked all the way across upstate New York, and into Ohio.

As for the elitist scumbag who wrote this, I tend to agree with you that's likely the fuck who in fact did write this. Off memory, he was correct in about 15 of the cities...Modesto(Scott Peterson fame), Miami(thuggery drugs and ho's), Detroit(do I have to say anything), Memphis(good God), and Stockton(make sure you pray before you travel through Stockton). I would have taken Chicago out and put Baltimore in. Chicago is a great city, and all American city. I would take out Philadelphia and put Oakland in. You talk about a cess pool of garbage. Just watch a raider game, and you can see all the inmates in the stands. Philadelphia is awesome. A great working man's town. I would pull Sacramento out and install Trenton, NJ. Apologies to the Boss, but that place is Oakland east. Sacramento is a fair and decent town. I am somewhat surprised Cincinnati was spared. I love the Queen City but there are some areas Charles Manson would avoid. I am also surprised that Washington DC is not in there. I would put those motherfuckers in there and take Buffalo out. Buffalo with it's great great sports fans are reason enough to not have them in this list.

Yes, it is. But, Pittsburgh has gotten it right in the way they've rebuilt themselves in the wake of the death of steel/factory work. They have really made that place great, socially and aesthetically.

Sometimes I really like to say/believe that it's almost like someone(s) in the state actually WANT to ruin the city. You should see the GORGEOUS lake front property we let go to absolute waste on the near east side of the city, for starters. We have an abandoned warehouse and an old dusty airport that 2 private planes fly into a year sitting on this proeprty that could be developed into a RIDICULOUS real estate asset. Yet, there has never been an honest attempt at building that property up. Then factor in all the corruption and what not and it really does seem like someone's purposely ruining us. Oh, another great example: The way we let even our great assets get kicked around or go to waste, like letting that fag Wenner and his cronies host all the important Rock Hall events in New York. That was so great to have the induction here last year. Now it's back to NY

Of course, we are having our extreme job troubles like most other places right now... and that extends far beyond the "blue collar" jobs. We also have our share of gang violence and crime, as well as very rough areas on both the west and east outskirts of the city, which sucks, to be sure. BUT, with that said, when you're actually in the city in the heart of the stadiums and businesses, you're in pretty good and safe company as far as cities go. It's nothing like being in Cinci or Detroit where one wrong move can INSTANTLY put you in an area you're gonna be lucky to get out of alive.

With that said, there are things we have definitely gotten right - our sports stadiums are great, we have some really great restaurants featuring nationally renowned chefs like Michael Symon (http://www.foodnetwork.com/michael-symon/index.html), and our "East 4th" and "West 6th" entertainment/dining districts are GREAT. The NY Times wrote up our E 4th project last summer, which Dan will see first-hand tomorrow, which was nice for the city - http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/08/reale ... ourth.html . Dan Gilbert, the spare-no-expense Cavs owner, also just got a casino initiative passed last November that should really spruce up the city and add a big attraction. I think in general a lot of enterprising, smart, and resourceful people are starting to get drawn here because there are so many opportunities to build something.

In the end, there's a lot of decent people here who work hard - even many of the area's prominent and most successful business executives and movers and shakers are humble grads of schools like Toledo and OSU rather than Ivy League snobs. Traffic is very light compared to other cities of its size, cost of living isn't bad besides taxes, you get sports and concerts, and mostly relatively down to earth people who have a lot of attachment to the city. Yeah, the social scene is much smaller than even a Pittsburgh and there are some real other problems, the miserable weather aside, but it's not nearly as bad of a place to live as all of the 70s mishaps have made it eternally seem to be.

You couldn't at least throw me a single bone regarding my traveling bj?

Good for Cleveland. I wish they would have put the Blue Jackets in Cleveland rather than Columbus. Is that because Cleveland is too black? Just a thought. I'd like to hear your take on this, and could hockey work in CLE? I remember they had the Barons a long time ago, but that wasn't NHL.

Thoughts?

It's a tough call. I think it woulda been tough to install them during the LeBron era since the seasons overlap so much. We have undoubtedly turned into a basketball town in the wake of the Browns and Indians futility. I don't think being too black would factor in too much, but I do think it would be hard for hockey to really cut into the Cavs market share. We have the Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) now and you can go for dirt cheap and just get loaded - I might do that with some buds next weekend or something for a change of pace. I think they do ok attendance wise. Hockey's a pretty popular junior sport here.

As for your domejob, you edited that in after I responded... I just read it  Classic. She swallow the load I hope?

No Matt, shot it in her hair and eyes. Well, it landed in her hair and dripped down into her sockets. "oh it burns, it stings!" I immediately laughed and high fived myself in the window reflection. LOL. I told her use my "Amshower" where I later brought in a couple of Mimosas and we fucked in the shower like gorillas in the mist. (I had a couple bottles of champagne in our room on ice, and I thieved the next door neighbours OJ when he went to the shitter. I took his entire 32 oz carton. Fuck him. Now remember, this is all taking place on a moving train. In the shower balance was an issue, especially at 70 mph, but correctable by locking together. It wasn't the size of the Hilton in Cleveland you know. But yeah, I was going to pump it down her grill but I was too sweet and gentlemanly then. Plus I hadn't shot since I left LA about 15 days earlier, so yeah, I ejaculated a tomahawk cruise jizzile right into her lettuce.

PS- not to take away from my romantic tale, but while we stopped in Toledo at 3AM, I was going to get out for some fresh air and stretch my legs a bit. Got all bundled up(it was about 5 degrees), and was headed off when the conductor said, "buddy, I wouldn't really step off here." Dumbfounded, and never having been to the great city of Toledo before, I asked why. He said, "You need to work on your tan; alot." It registered then. So I stayed aboard and as we started to move out of Toledo, I could hear stones and rocks pelting the outside of the train, sounding like rapid gunfire. Thank God the train has bullet proof windows and steel wheels. :o :)

Columbus didn't have any pro teams, although they do of course have Ohio State. Cleveland has the 3 major teams in the Browns, Cavs and Indians, as well as the Gladiators of Arena League Football, and the Cleveland State University teams. I don't think the NHL wants to have to compete with 3 major league teams in Cleveland when they could be in Columbus as the cities only pro sports team.

Cleveland does have the AHL Hockey team the Lake Erie Monsters.

Actually, this will always remain Browns Town first and foremost. But the Cavs are clearly our best team at this time.

Matt, your younger than me. I doubt that you could remember how pumped up Cleveland was in the 80's with the Browns. Can you remember the Indians in the 90's?

Although if the Cavs win it all this year, that will get them all the closer to the Browns and Indians in the hearts of Clevelanders.

I wasn't there for the Browns in the 80s but I'm a student of history, so I know how crazy it used to be. I also vividly remember the last game in Municipal Stadium of course, I was more than old enough by then. I definitely remember ALL of the Indians in the 90s, starting with the strike shortened year in 94. Jose Mesa introduced me to what it means to be a true Cleveland sports fan

But, the fact of the matter is that the Cavs have taken over from the Browns. The fans have just had it with the Browns' garbage. Hell, this year we had to have fuckin channel 19 buy up half of our tickets three times just to avoid blackouts. That would have never happened when this was truly a "Browns town." Don't get me wrong, I love the Browns and always will (can't say the same for the Indians), but this is a basketball town until further notice as far as the majority is concerned.

I can. Brian Sipe? He was a stud. Had Denver beaten a few times and couldn't finish. Elway plunger raped them. I vividly remember Bron fans chucking Milk Bones on the field from the dog pound.

Can you remember the Indians in the 90's?

Hell yea. lost in 7 games to Turner Television. Omar Visquel was a pleasure to watch as was that degenerate Albert Belle. Didn't they have Manny Ramirez too?

The Flats are another WASTED beautiful area Dean. Nothing's ever happening down there unless there's a concert at Nautica (Scene Pavilion now). West 6th and East 4th are where it's at downtown.

Those Indians teams might have had the best offense of all time: Kenny Lofton, Manny, Vizquel, Baerga, Belle, Jim Thome, Sandy Alomar Jr., Richie Sexson, Matt Williams, Brian Giles, David Justice, Julio Franco, Kevin Seitzer, Tony Fernandez. I remember sitting at Jacobs Field looking at stats on the Jumbo-Tron as each player came to bat and scowling at a .285 hitter because it was so low compared to all the batters who preceded and followed him! That has to be one of the most talented teams to not win in MLB history.

Oh, and the Cavs are winning it all this year, dipshit... well, provided malignant narcissist LeBron doesn't jack up bad 3s and cost us close games like last night trying to show up Carmelo or another superstar because he's an egomaniacal idiot

I'll take that bet. 25 bucks says Cleveland doesn't win the championship. I could care less anyway because the NBA is hardly even a sport, and is full of thugs and degenerates who break the law more than Herbie mows cheeseburgers. It's so boring to watch. You can't go 13 seconds without some sort of whistle going off..a foul that really wasn't a foul, a timeout, a technical foul because someone said a bad word, etc etc. I have never seen bigger pussies who call themselves men than I have in the NBA. Aside from Kobe Bryant and maybe Howard in Orlando, the men are few and far between.

The Michigan cities listed are expecting a huge turn around in 2010~we're happy about that!! :D
Chicago will be happy for at least one weekend in May and
O-H-I-O...it's home of the Rose Bowl champs and OSU ticket prices are on the rise!! :P

MI will see vast improvments by hollywood opening up studios there... IOWA was going to be that state, until
OUR STATE blew it last fall....there were 70 movie projects slated for 2010... nothing now...

MG.. DTW is awesome airport...
