When I got to Japan in the mid 80s, the first thing I noticed was every one had killer component systems. It took me awhile but with in a few years I was rocking and rolling.
Of course it's total over kill now but back then, bigger meant better.

Military guys used to get killer sound gear overseas. My Father in law had returned from overseas back in 1979 and we stopped by the house and he was setting up some similar killer system. Those were the days.

Oh, the power that equipment drained. I didn't care back then even when it did warm up the room like a small nuclear reactor.

I still have a Fisher 600c, Garrard TT and some Bose 901s. I just played some of my vintage vinyl thru them last summer. If you haven't heard anything but cd's thru modern audio gear it's amazing when you listen to something with tubes.

It was not broken and they shouldn't have fixed it!
