For those not familiar he was a good friend and bandmate to Daryl Hall. Anyone who has watched Live At Daryl's House are very familiar with who he is. A very talented musician. God speed on your journey, T Bone. May you rest in peace. : (

I can't find a birthdate for T-Bone or find this news anywhere else besides shady Wiki pages... kinda hoping it's an unsubstantiated rumor but I don't think T-Bone's well-known enough for someone to pull this off if it's not true... At any rate, he couldn't have been that old.

First reading this, I thought this was our own moderator, T-bone. My heart broke the floor haha. Although not cool that Tom dyed, I'm glad I read it wrong haha.

I found out on FaceBook from Eli Reed who, as you probably know, did an episode of Daryl's House. People are also giving condolences on Daryl Halls FB wall. : (

Yes, it has to be.
It wouldn't surprise me if he didn't do any more LADH episodes...but, maybe he will and after some time he might even do a tribute show for T Bone, who knows. : (

yes it's true . . . it's all over the H&O boards
I've been told that Hall & Oates will be making an official announcement tomorrow. He will be missed -- he was a great musician who complimented Daryl.
Hall & Oates was supposed to perform on Jimmy Fallon's show tomorrow night (Monday) . . .

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM DARYL HALL AND JOHN OATES ABOUT THE PASSING OF TOM “T-BONE” WOLK
Daryl Hall:
To say that I am shocked is the ultimate understatement. T-Bone was my musical brother and losing him is like losing my right hand. It’s not if I will go on, but how. T-Bone was one of the most sensitive and good human beings that I have ever known. And, I can truly say that I loved him.
John Oates:
His character was pure and his unique and quirky personality touched everyone he encountered. His musical sensibility was peerless, any instrument that he touched resonated with a sensitivity and skill level that I have never experienced while playing with any other musician. He possessed an encyclopedic knowledge of styles and musical history which he referenced to support all the artists that he played with over the years. He became our band's musical director over time leading by example and by the deference and respect that everyone who played alongside him so rightfully accorded him. He made everyone he played with better. So many times when I'm working on a musical passage or part, I think to myself: "How would T-Bone play this" and aspire to his level every time I perform. To this day I always keep one of his "I Love Vermont" guitar picks with me where ever I go and know in my heart that starting today the Heavenly Band just got one of the greatest multi-instrumentalist of all time and that band will from this day forward sound better than they ever have before.
(Tom Wolk was 58 years old)

I'm still very saddened.....I so much enjoyed the music and the interaction he had with Daryl and their guests on Daryl's House....he was as much a part of that as Daryl..... such a loss..

All this talk about T-bone's bass playing when he was a hell of a guitar player too...
Feel for Daryl and John
I wonder if T-Bone knew he had high cholesterol and/or blood pressure or what not or even if he did? He looked like he was in great shape for a guy half his age, but hereditary heart disease doesn't discriminate.

Them guys used to do some serious eating at Daryl's. Not snacks, but a lot of the food they were chowing on did look pretty rich. I know it wasn't every day over there but all those episodes looked like the place was always filled with food and music.

True true, but T-Bone didn't look overweight. This shit just gets ya sometimes (ok, a lot of times) and it sucks. I know as much from my own family history with heart disease.

I just saw this. I'm speechless.
This guy went from quirky pop bass player to world class guitar player. He played piano too...probably other stuff we didn't even know.
John Oates says it best - the Heavenly Band just got a lot better.
