Care to elaborate on the eye roll? What induces eye rolls about male nurses? I'm curious.

Other than the social stigma, nursing is a great career at this point in the States for men. Honestly, assuming I didn't want to be a surgeon or specialist, between given the choices of going into general practice (less and less appealing every day here for financial and other reasons for prospective doctors) or getting a BSN in half the time, I'd do the BSN every time. Guaranteed work
anywhere, great shifts/no on call nonsense, insurance isn't nearly as oppressive, and much less time/debt invested into schooling/residency. Oh, plus easy access to mostly female co-workers
I mean really, when you can have an MBA and law degree and aren't even guaranteed a job where you can at least pay your loans, why not consider the alternative if you're medically inclined?
With all that said, I would still make fun of any of my friends relentlessly if they chose to do this
