Quadriplegic Falls Into Mosh Pit At AC/DC Concert

March 2, 2010 8:35 a.m. EST
Brisbane, Australia (AHN) - A quadriplegic man was serious injured at an AC/DC concert when he was thrown into a mosh pit after a friend accidentally hit the joystick on his motorized wheelchair.
According to witnesses the 31-year-old man was impaled in the eye with a metal pin on the wheelchair used to move objects around.
Hospital officials said the man is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit of Princess Alexandra Hospital.
The incident, which occurred in Brisbane, has raised criticism of the venue for not having the proper barrier in place in front of the wheelchair podium. The Queensland Sport and Athletics Center (QSAC), a Brisbane venue owned by the state government, issued a statement saying they were aware of the incident and were investigating it.
Some 45,000 concertgoers were in attendance.
Holy shit! Sucks to be him.
