How do you guys put pics in your avatar here? Been trying to figure it out myself for a while but can't figure it out. Advice please thanks.

Easy. There are several different ways. You could click on this link: http://photobucket.com/ & type in whatever it is you're looking for in the Search engine, then copy the link from that, or you could copy from your own existing source, or a multitude of other ways. Let's go with Photobucket since that's easiest to explain: Let's say I want a really cool picture of a car. I click on the above link, type "cool car" in the Search engine, find the car pic I want & click on it, then copy the IMG code on the left-hand side of the page & paste it here, like this:



Now, let's say I wanted to copy my own avatar into the body of my post. I just right-click on the avatar, then click on "properties," then highlight the Address URL in the center of the pop-up box, then right-click again, then select copy, then select "Cancel," then select "Quote" in the upper right-hand corner of your post, then type what I'm typing here, then hit enter a few times to create some blank lines, then right-click again, then select paste, then highlight the link that just pasted, then click on "Img" at the top of my post, the click "Submit" at the bottom of my post & presto-magico. It's there.

EDIT: Ooops, I just noticed you wanna use the pic as an avatar, which, if I had paid attention to the title of your thread, I woulda known. Anyway, that takes us into a whole different area. Plus, you gotta think about the size of your pic. Size DOES matter, tee hee. Anywayz, if Behshad, Gunny or any other computer gurus haven't helped you out behind the scenes & you still need someone's guidance, I can try & talk you through it but you'll hafta PM me & let me know if you still need help b/c it's an awful lot of written instructions that you may not even need if someone's already helping you.

Nightbull- Just have someone do it for you. There are confusions as to proper size and all that shit. Just give someone here you trust your password, let them post it in your avatar, and then change your password afterwards. I have done it for a couple of folks and I am sure others here have done so as well.

Hi there.

Go here: this is what I use for my pics - very easy:

1. Choose your pic from your computer.

2. Choose either the "thumbnail" or "for websites and email" option.

3. Choose "no" for the "add label to thumbnail?" option.

4. Upload.

Once you get your pic uploaded, right-click and choose the image address; copy it.
Then, paste the address into the Avatar option in your Profile.

That's it!
