Another week, another teacher does another student. I'm beginning to think this is a rampant epidemic. She's kind of cute too. Pic is in the link. At 14 I'd have probably shot my wad as soon as those lips made contact.

Amy Beck, a 33-year-old sixth-grade teacher in Burbank, California, is in police custody charged with five counts of unlawful sex with a person under 16. The student in question, a boy, was 14 at the time and has since moved to a different school, officials said.

For some, the case may evoke memories of Mary Kay Letourneau, now Mary Kay Fualaau, who served more than seven years in prison for having sex with a 13-year-old former student. They had two children and married in 2005.

What makes the latest case unusual, police say, is that the teacher turned herself in voluntarily and told detectives she had had inappropriate sexual relations with a student. Police say they went to verify this with the student and he confirmed it.

That's why I get into arguments with guys every time one of these stories comes out. My question is how come men never have a problem with this. It seems like if it's a female teacher going after a 14 year old boy, guys always think it's ok and have comments like "where were these teachers when *I* was 14!?" But if it's a male teacher and an illegeally young girl, that's a problem. It seems like if it was YOUR (meaning the guys) son, you'd be high-fiving the kid and telling him way to go, and if it was your daughter, you'd be outside the teachers house with a shotgun.

The fact is that is a prolem, and it's sick and wrong whether the kid is a girl or a boy. And these adults, both the men AND the women, need to be LOCKED UP.

I used to blame these boys who couldn't keep their yaps shut for ruining for the guy in next year's class. It appears this teacher has come down with a case of morality and turned herself in. Highly unusual!

Kim, I think, by nature and nurture, that boys are tougher in the sexual area of life than women (in this case boys and girls ... or young adults). I don't pretend to know what a young girl feels like after an experience like that, but a boy, any boy, would bounce back and not really have his life altered by the experience (excluding the generous teacher getting pregnant). And I think that's why you see men getting tougher sentences than women ... and I'm ok with that. In this specific area, young girls need to be protected much more than young boys. The "damage done" simply isn't the same.

It isn't. dr. phil had a show on with teen boys and girls. and they had a doctor on talking about in high school physiologically a boy's testosterone is raging and sex is an outlet for them. the boys all admitted to saying and doing anything to get what they wanted and eventually chasing someone else for the same thing. I'm paraphrasing this. there was a lot more to what the doctor said about it. the girls were shocked to hear all of their admissions as they had been either having oral sex or sex with boys and now realized they were more emotional about the attachment than the boys.
