24 will come to an end after 8 seasons, Fox announced.

No real surprise here from me...

This definitely one of my favorite cable shows of all time, but the last three seasons have been very up and down. It was a great concept that only allowed for so many crises of epic proportion to be the center of the plot before it got ridiculous. A lot of the plot motifs/twists (eg characters turning bad or good) have been so overdone at this point that you can see it coming.

I've never seen a single episode of 24. I'm just now catching up on Miami Vice and 21 Jump Street.

What the hell took so long???? Anyway i won't watch fox again until they bring back the sarah connor chronicles screw you fox!!!!!

Dang right! They shut it down at a cliffhanger. At least give us a 2-hour wrap-up!

LOVE 24 and I am bummed. But this could open up a whole new movie franchise! I could live with that. There were definate ups and downs and yes, it was limiting in the format.

And specifically about this season: I thought the "Dana is the mole" twist was completely ridiculous. One: how many moles can work for CTU??? Two: if she were working with the terrorists all along, she would've known about the EMP and that it would wipe out all the files the probation officer was requesting. She coulda just made him wait and NOT call her fiance to say she was going to tell all....

I think the Dana thing was the nail in the coffin proving that they were just flat out of ideas.

With that said, I was not digging this season at all til Monday's episode... that was great. Looks like they're pulling out the stops for the rest of the way... Pres Charles Logan is comign back next week!
