This is RIDICULOUS.

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryla ... 7549.story

Basically... the Westboro Baptist Church picketed this fallen soldier's funeral with their typical "God Hates Fags" signs and "God Hates The USA". The family sued for emotional damages and initially won, but the verdict was overturned upon appeal as free speech, and now the family has to pay the church for their legal fees, adding insult to injury. Now the family is asking for donations because they simply can't afford to pay these jerks $16k.

It is ridiculous.

Bill O'Reilly has offered to pay all of this man's legal bills.

What happens to justice? I think anyone heckling a funeral needs to be thrown in jail. It is insult to injury and justice did not prevail. Free speach or not...........you have free speach, but if you yell fire in a theater it is still a crime. When free speach allows people who are grieving to be emotionally assaulted then that is too much.

This is sick. They are sick. They thrive on this. They are getting just what they want...attention...and now money.

They picket my church every Sunday. Until being moved further away by a new city ordinance, they would stand right at the drive way and yell at you (and your kids) when you pulled in the parking lot. SICK SICK SICK. If you said anything back, they would jump in front of your car and say you hit them.

They are off the chart nuts. Period.

I feel awful for the marine's dad and all the other families that have had funerals of their loved ones desecrated by this hatred. I hope it is true that O'Reilly (or someone) picks up the tab.

Now please end this thread so they do not get anymore attention.

Good for him.

These people continually inflict harm on people who are already suffering. It's not my place to judge them but I hope God does so very soon and that it's very well known what happens to them.

Is the 4th circuit court of appeals decision being appealed to the Supreme Court? Does anyone know?

Bill O'Reilly thinks the judges that reversed a lower court decision against the Westboro Baptist church had a "moral obligation in a high profile case" to decide otherwise. I just heard him say that on his show. As much as I can't stand those "people" and wish they would disappear, judges SHOULD NOT be deciding cases based on a "moral obligation".

This is a clear case of legal and organized protesting. It falls under that same filthy, albeit legal, umbrella of burning our flag. They're both mentally and emotionally traumatizing to those affected. The solution to this is simple. I would have come sailing across the street throwing haymakers. Big deal ... battery charges. Out in a few hours. I know the routine. Someone should hire a homeless person with cancer to roll through this church with a machine gun and waste them all. I'd like to stroll in afterward all liquored up and piss on their corpses.

Problem is, they are a family of lawyers, pretty smart ones at that. They would make it their mission to drag you through the courts until it bankrupted you. We've had guys take them on and then they started videotaping all their own protests.

Nothing more scary than a wacked out bunch of lawyers.

These fuckers are nothing more than domestic terrorists. I can't think of a crime too horrific against them. But you raise a good point. They shield themselves with our freedoms. Well, if I'm ever diagnosed as terminally ill, I know where I'm going to church.
