6.9?? Holy shit, didn't feel that strong. Maybe cuz I'm 40 minutes away from LA.
It scared me, though. The whole damn house was shaking. I was sitting on a tall chair and swayed like hell. I hate this. :?

Hope all our CA posters in that area are alright and didn't have any property or personal damage!

We felt that fucker...rolling quake lasted about 15 seconds. 6.9 is HUGE, especially in that toilet, err cvountry called Mexico. Get out your checkbooks, and get ready to to text "Mexico" to 99999 for 10 bucks billed to your cell.

Who will be the good humanitarian to start a telethon in LA?

No damage in LA, but here I thought Wyatt was pushing my chair, and then I looked over and the little bastard was in the other room...then it dawned on me we were rolling. I felt like JasonD was behind me trying to assrape me. Goddamn how is that for a visual?

It was 6.9, and centered down in Baja east/southeast of Tijuana. I live in Oceanside, in north San Diego county, and that fucker was pretty strong. I had just woke up from a nap when it hit. I was sitting on the edge of my bed, getting my bearings (as us old farts need to do when we first wake up, lol) and thought I was having a syncopal episode (fainting spell in medical-speak).

Last time I felt one that strong was the one back in '94 or so; that one actually moved my bed a couple of feet (upstairs bedroom in the condo I owned back then) just after I had laid down to sleep around 5:00 am after getting home from work.

This time, nothing damaged, not even knocked off shelves or anything, although my neighbor's pool looked like a wave machine for a coupla minutes afterwards.

There have been a couple of pretty good aftershocks here that were definitely felt. Hearing that there are power outages here in the SoCal area as well...

I was walking around outside with headsets and didn't notice anything. Only when I entered the house did I hear about it. A lot closer to Arizona than S.D. or L.A., as it's centered around Mexicali. A few collapsed structures there is all I have heard about so far.

It shook the hell out of our 5-story building near the center of San Diego. It was creaking and groaning. Not violent, but a lot of movement. I've been out here 30 years, and it's the worst one I remember. I also felt one short aftershock.

Silver Lake
It's all up and down with terraces and stone steps. Nothing is level. Maybe if I was sitting still I would have noticed. My old lady and son felt it inside the house.

It isn't over yet, unfortunately. There are still shitloads of good sized after shocks of 4.0 to 5.0.
