This album kicks MAJOR ass!!! :shock:

I just bought it, and even the first listen-thru is absolutely freaking awesome!!!

I know it's been out for a while, but I just remembered it tonight and decided to buy it. To me, these are the first songs that I love on the first listen...

1. Deal With The Devil

2. Pull Me Under

3. Super Nova

4. Always Within Me

5. Feeding Frenzy

6. After All This Time- Probably my favorite song. It's the first true Blues song I've heard the band record, and they sound awesome on it!

7. Witness

Kip is one of the most talented singers/guitarists/keyboardists/bass players/everything else in the freaking business! His talent oozes all over this album and it's by far one of my favorite albums of the last ten years.

There is a lot of variety in this album, and I think a LOT of you would love it! Production-wise it's amazing!!! It's on par with some of the top albums of the 80's. The vocals are HUGE on this album, as well as the amazing guitars from Beach.

I really can't say anything else more for the album except endorse it to the fullest and recommend it to EVERYONE! If you're on the fence with Winger, PLEASE listen to this album... you just might change your mind. :wink:

Pull is still my favorite Winger album, but I have Karma and do like it a lot, definitely a heavier Winger album, but I like that. "Always Within Me" is my favorite song on it. Can't wait to see them live soon.

I am SOOO jealous! I wish I could get to that show.

I told Dan earlier that a guitarist I used to play with was auditioned by Kip and Reb, and Kip had asked him about being the replacement for Paul Taylor after he left the band after the 2nd album. My buddy was an awesome guitarist/keyboardist and singer. He would have made a great addition to the band!

The band split up right after all of this happened though, so he never heard back from them. Still would have been cool though.

This album is (to me) much better than "Pull". Pull was a pretty heavy album, but to me... this album has the huge vocals I missed from the 80's, and it has much more variety than Pull did. I may change my mind after a few listens, but so far I'd give this album a 8.5 out of ten!

Agreed Karma kicks ass. "Witness" I love that song, and Reb's solo on that song, I have not heard a solo like that on a studio recording in I don't know when.

I'm with ya on the album for sure, but that song may be my least favorite. I hate it, actually. To my ears it's a completely generic sounding blues progression, and the higher-octave Kip Winger growly vocals just didn't fit the song.

Major talented dude for sure, not to mention a super nice guy too. KW is certainly aging well......

LOL I like the ballads too, one of my faves is Miles Away, but I really like Seventeen also.....just love the crunchy guitar sound in that one.
