Come on Calif,I hope so. I hate the smell of the stuff but it does help people with medical conditions. When the rest of the states get a whiff of the revenue (pun intended) they will follow. Many states could balance budgets . Now, if your locals yokels spend it to buy votes it won't help your state but only their re-elections. Never take an eye off of them. It should stop most of the trafficing in MJ so that they can concentrate on meth, heroin, & cocaine. THEN PUT UP A FENCE and start to deport the criminal gang members and give the rest a chance to try for citizenship. But, if Cingress is not smart enough to do the fence 1st ,there will be a bigger run for our borders. Look up the evils of MJ. It started with Dupont Chemical c1937 who were losing 80% of their profits to what could be made from MJ. I am sure Congress was bought off the same way back then as today.

The war on drugs is not winnable. People are going to take drugs if that is their desire. That said, why not make it legal, regulate, tax it, and use that revenue to help people who want off the shit get help? The drugs would be safer, not made hap-hazardly by street chemists. It would get the criminal element out of the drug trade and make the streets safer for kids growing up. Other countries have done it this way with much success.

Meth will never be legal, lol. Pot is arguably pretty harmless overall but all you have to do with meth is point to one of those mug shot progressions. I also doubt cocaine, heroin, LSD, or any other hard drug will be legalized as a consequence of marijuana legalization...

It isn't fully legal, but in Massachusetts you can have a small amount on you and not get busted..I believe it is an ounce...

You can argue about how harmful/socially detrimental pot is vis-a-vis alcohol/tobacco all day long, you can argue if it's better or worse than boozing or smoking cigarettes health-wise all day long, etc etc. My personal view is that there is a culture among pot smokers and a side-effect of the drug itself that makes it a lot easier for the drug to take over your life. I think it also fucks with your mind a lot more than even hardcore alcoholism does over the same timeframe.

But, I guess when it's all said and done, I don't really care that much one way or another. I do think that overall, there'd be a net increase in societal harm if you legalize it. It's not going to turn out to be the rosy, tons of tax revenue, happy pothead burnouts, and pain-free terminally ill users that proponents of legalization like to paint.

This is an interesting concept because at one time when we are all starting out with our girlfriends, missionary sex is like so exciting, but after we do that, people want to move on to bigger and better, much like smoking pot does to people. They smoke it, get high and eventually increase their usage and/or then want to move on to bigger and better highs usually resulting in moving up to more dangerious drugs like meth, cocaine, etc. I've known a few people in the past who turned into drug users and they all share one thing in common with one another, they all started out smoking "harmless" pot.

In my situation, sex can't get any better because I'm doing it with the one and only woman I love. As for drugs and alcohol, I've been lucky that I was born naturally happy and not having to utilize substance to get me in that mood. My wife is also the same as I. So we are a perfect match together.

I know some 60 year olds who are quite functional, responsible, productive people, who will not think twice about smoking a joint once in awhile and have been doing it all their adult lives. It depends on the person. I also know another guy who lived at home into his mid 30's, smoked pot everyday and didn't get his first real job until after his mom died and he had to go out into the world and fend for himself.
