Can't wait. I wore her first album into the ground listening to it, and really enjoyed her second one, also. Lost track of her after that. A friend saw her in her Vegas show (or Reno, not sure) and said she was amazing.

This will always be my favorite song by her: Breathe Again

http://www.youtube.com/v/ku6AbRRIMOY&hl

But the whole CD was fantastic. Babyface's influence was all over this CD.

Seven Whole Days - http://www.youtube.com/v/MEWiF2FxF5w&hl=en

93 was a good year for music for me: Toni Braxton's debut album. Babyface's For the Cool in You (masterpiece). Tears for Fears Elemental. U2 Zooropa. And Seal's album which I didn't own until then. Don't know how I missed it b/f. I just remember a lot of great albums all in the same time period of 93ish.

I've been listening to this so much the past week on YouTube that if it had been a record, I would have worn it out! Love this song (the solo version):

Me too! I rarely buy new music - it's such a treat to have something worth buying.

Here's the Song that started it all for me - I absolutely looooooooove to sing this song
and LOVE the a-capella close harmonies at the beginning! 8)

Sorry for the bad sound quality; this is the only link I could find with this version...
But, to me, she's like Steve - I'd listen to anything she sings - even if the quality is horrible LOL

I dunno, I just don't get it. I like songs with real instrumentation.

It's relatively pleasant to listen to. Definitely not amazing by any stretch of the imagination. Without real instrumentation, you don't get the full emotive effect. It's like watching a great athlete take batting practice or in shoot-arounds, rather than watching him use his talents in the context of a real game. It's just not the same.

So - you're telling me you CANNOT FEEL what she's singing? :?

Here's a clearer take on the Song: (just get past the 10 second commercial)

Not particularly in the context of the horrendous backing. MIDI instruments and canned beats just don't do it for me, except for the occasional foray into electronic/industrial music that I make. There's nothing organic about it. I'd say the same if it were one of my favorite artists singing over that kinda stuff.

Sadly, the lack of real instrumentation is what defines music today. Most of this fucking generation has no proper taste in music. (I'm sure my parents said the same thing  )
crap
crap
crap

I do like Toni's voice though.
